MMO section

Screw Sub-sections. Just 1 section with Threads for Each MMO. From there we just add if there is MMO related news.

Do we even need subsections? Seems like most game discussion occurs under a single thread for each game. Would leave the sub-sections kinda empty lol.

Sub-sections are way easier to find ... and they promote willingness to start new threads by newcomers as opposed to derailing main threads with noob queries.

I know, but is there really enough MMO discussion for that? I think we *just* have enough to warrant a general section. I can't imagine which MMO's have enough My Gaming players to support their own sub-sections.

He kinda has a point there. If there is just one single thread it's easy for it to get derailed - and newcomers don't always like coming with a question in the middle of whatever convo's happening. I know I didn't (back in the day :p)

I think there will just be an MMO section to start. No need to divide it further, remember this is still a small forum.

If it takes off and there is demand then sub forums are somehting we can look at down the line.

I personally don't like forums where there are loads of sub sections and everything is divided. What are your thoughts on this?

Agreed, we can add [EVE] / (insert game title) tag to the thread title of say SA Eve players list in the single MMO page, and then have general mmo discussions in a single thread

eg

[EVE] New players Guide
[EVE] SA Players list
[GW] Character creation guide
[WoW] Hunter discussion
General MMO Discussion

Agree. Subsection will make it look cluttered and be daunting for newbies. Like OC said. We do a FAQ for each MMO, Player Guid all things like that. The senior guyz will keep an eye on the threads and help/guide new members and should there be spam we will call in Tinman or Rusty with the Banhammers.

As i understand it there was a WOW section that died due to lack of support, smaller MMO's will suffer the same fate is they have their own sub section. One section with Threads is gr8 idea. The guides and FAQ's can be stickied and the rest will live and die like any thread on a forum.

I think the tagging system could work ... up to a point.

Looking at the MMO section right now - it actually does look cluttered. And if we're going to be doing FAQ's and guides and what-not, I think it would be better to have them in their own subsection, especially if you're planning on making those threads sticky.

As you say, the forum is still small, but as it gets bigger, maybe look at creating subsections for the bigger (and more discussed) MMO's.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Ok I'll create DDO FAQ thread and Player Guide.
Senior Members.... Pick your MMO and make Tinman proud.

I like the idea of a snr member 'taking charge' of a specific MMO .......

Well there are alot of MMO's and Tinman and Rusty have their hands full. So even without Admin rights we, the senior members, can still police and take charge of 1 specific MMO. Thus sharing the reponsibility and only calling upon the mods in a time of need.
