Modern Warfare 2 "stimulus" map pack

I saw on steam that you can now pre-order the "stimulus pack" for modern warfare 2, which consists of five new maps. Wow hey, and if you order now you get a whole 10 rand off!

I'm curious as to how many of you are going to pay for this? +- R150 for five new maps? FIVE? Also, a couple of them aren't even new, they're just copies of old COD4 ones like Crash. Something about this just makes me so angry :mad: I don't know, maybe I'm just used to not paying for some measly maps.

Is this now the future?
 
I will be getting this(I hate paying for it but I cant resist lol). From what I understand reading on the this forums, this isn't new. Some PC games have charged before, but this is new for Modern Warfare 2. It was free in Cod 4. If its a game from Activision it will most probably be this way in future.
 
Dang U steam why cant u be free u son of a gaming company,:( I was so exited about Modern Warfare (was going to buy it 1 May ) but if ur gonna have to pay for all new maps,mods

/wheeps its all two much
 
There is no way that i will pay for it! seriously, it's ridiculous. With some games you get DLC for free. MW2 should be DLC free in my point of view...
 
Uhm on current exchange rates its R100.00. Cant see why people are moaning like this. I enjoyed every single minute of my 20days game time and ill get this with a smile on my face.

Uhm it's actually it's about R112 but anyways ;) But seriously, R100 bucks for five maps? Ok, if they were adding new weapons or perks as well or maybe another chapter of single player then cool, i would pay with a smile on my face. But five little maps? For 100 rand? Not even all new? That's pathetic. Maybe it's because I've never been charged, in any game, for freaking maps before that i feel this way. Suppose i, and my limited student wallet, better get used to this crap. :/
 
I also have a limited student self employed budget. And ive made peace with the fact that people run business nr. 1 because there is a need for said business and nr. 2 to make profit.

So on nr.1 Everyone wants these maps and nr.2 obviously everyone who plays the game regularly will get this.

Obviously it would have been awesome getting this for free but i seriously dont mind getting this. Its like on the Xbox 360 where i have to pay 800 Ms points which is about $8-10 if im not mistaken for a arcade game like metal slug 3. I was more than happy to do that for one day of awesomeness.
 
Fridgevr - Cast your wand and work your magic :p . If SA don't players don't get this, it will make the map pack unplayable. I urge you all to sell a kidney for in aid off suffering for Mapathy!

Lol. With more than 400 players online every night easily i dont think well have a problem dude. Ill just "swear" at some ignorant people but most will get this.
 
Arrrggg...50mb to go then i can get some stimulus....Took forever. Would have helped if we werent 3 people trying to dl it.
 
Mine is done. I checked this morning. Its about 700mb in total for both Single and Multiplayer updates. I changed my content server to Japan and seem to have worked much better :)

By the way the double XP is only for PS3. Has anything been confirmed for PC?
 
Ag, I dont think I am even going to bother with the "stimulus package" rather spend the time on creating something decent for COD7, than carry on with the same old

Not sure about the double XP (as if you need it! :p) being PS3 specific - the way I understood was that it was for PC as well. So it's round about 700MB then - not too bad - I'll get that downloading later.
 
Played a little bit this morning, the new maps are rather small, but do bode for some nice close combat encounters.

And yes... PC will be getting double XP up to sunday ;)
