Modern Warfare 3 South African pricing confirmed

IF I decide to buy this game it wont be anytime soon after release, I simply don't trust/believe anything coming from IW's mouth.
 
Same...waiting to play before i pay!
And i want to see how much the Elite service offers a player, at another 500 for the year it better be worth it!
 
I emailed TakeALot to find out what would happen if the price of MW3 changed after having paid for it via pre-order and i got the following reply:

If the price of an item you've already pre-ordered is dropped before it
is released, we will automatically adjust your pre-order to the new lower
price, and ensure you are charged for the new price. If you have already
been charged, or have already deposited, we will place the difference as
credit on your profile.

If the price of your pre-ordered item increases, we will temporarily
suspend your pre-order. At the same time we will send you an email, with
the option of changing your pre-order to the new price, or cancelling your
pre-order. If we don't receive any response within 48 hours we'll cancel
the order.

So that R399 for MW3 on PC still has 2 months to change :(
 
WTF...the price for console version is insane. I think people should boycot that price. The the price difference between bf3 and mw3 is like R100. I truly loathe the millions of fan boys out there which cause this kind of inflation on a game which you will eventually have to pay over R100 a pop for new map packs.

Congratulations, Activision. What little chance of competition you had left against BF3 has just been lost. You really needed the pricing to be good in order to retain some fans, and you just proved that even in the face of really strong competition, you still don't give a shit about anything other than lining your pockets. Well played.

And Graal, when have they ever shown otherwise? The sad part is they'll still line their pockets because of all the ignorant people, they don't care. They know that even at that price, it'll still sell more than enough for them to pocket $$$$$.
 
I'd like to see how this price compares to MW3's main competitor (Battlefield 3), seeing as EA has been releasing console games at slightly reduced prices lately.

Will probably get this one 2nd hand.
I'd rather pick up Battlefield 3 on release day.
 
I don't have a problem waiting for this to go to clasics and/or platinum.
If it gets there it will be much cheaper and also proven to be a decent game.
 
Sweet Jesus, I forsee myself being hungry during November, maybe stick to second hand for some of the titles coming out then.
 
R700 for the console version that's insane. But watch, it'll sell like hot cakes nonetheless. If I don't win it I'll just get it on Kalahari for R580. Never ever will I pay more than R600 for any game, unless it's a CE.
