My fellow MoGamers, there is a week left before the Big Shave as a start for Movember. Remember to go to Movemeber.com to register and join us in the MoGaming team. We are only 3 so far in the team, and I would urge all our mustache growing brethren to please join us.
This year my Mo is being grown for a reason. During the course of this year, my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Luckily it was picked up at a very early stage, and he was able to go for the operation and remove the cancer for good (we hope). The story had a very happy ending, but many men are not as lucky as my old man.
Movember is not just to grow a mustache, it about raising awareness of testicular and prostate cancer among men. We tend to not talk about this at all, and so few men actually go to a Urologist every few years for a check-up. If you can pick up any anomalies early, the road to recovery is much easier.
So come and join us as we grow our mustaches, and while you're doing it, book a visit to your closest Urologist to do the checks. There is no reason why you shouldn't be wary of the dangerous of testicular or prostate cancer, and both can be managed properly with early detection.
As a statistic, 1 in 5 men WILL one day get either prostate or testicular cancer...
If you don't want to listen to my plea, here is Samuel L Jackson...
