MoH is FAIL - proceed to operation "BEG for Dedicated Servers"?

So Medal of Honor seems to have bought a first class ticket on the failboat and is sailing away with all of our hopes and dreams that we've invested in it. So what the heck are we PC gamers going to do now?

Shall we:

A. Launch operation "BEG Activision for Dedicated Servers for MW: BO"?
B. Just wait for Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam?

What's the plan now? lol

why is it fail though? I pre-ordered for the beta key when the first beta came out and it was crap so i canceled but I was hoping the official release would be awesome :-( To me, for the beta at least, it was just a mod for BFBC2 that sped the game up and changed the weapons to a more modern warfare 2 style. Quite disappointing that the final release sucks... Oh well Ive got too much Starcraft to play anyway :)

I actually enjoyed the beta. To the point of me pre-ordering. I'll see if my faith is rewarded on Friday when it finally comes out.

LOL - dude you ask us why it's fail and then continue to answer your own question. Sigh.

Why is it a fail?

It has the same server situation as BC2? At least it won't be the same kak as MW2 where you literally spend more time in lobbies waiting to get a game than actually playing.

And the hitreg is awesome! I didn't like BC2 because of my inabillity to kill someone even when shooting with a tank lol.

I played the beta and was "hoping" that the final release would somehow contain something that made it worth while. Unfortunately what we played in the last public Beta pretty much ended up being the same game that we're getting on the shelves.

There are only 8 maps and we know how DICE provide "new" maps. It's like saying that there are new Grand Prix circuits being built, but really they're just racing around the old ones, in reverse.

So longevity is a huge issue in this game. The maps are also very small. I mean, REALLY small. You have to remember and keep in mind that this game was supposed to be "better" than CoD: Black Ops and it turned out that it's nowhere near as good.

It doesn't help that you have a game that has dedicated servers, but the maps are smaller, supports less players AND is actually no different to Bad Company 2.

So here's the question: If this game is absolutely NO better than Bad Company 2, and actually has more drawbacks to it - what stops people from just simply sticking to Bad Company 2?

I'll answer my own question: NOTHING.

So that's why this game is FAIL. It's like a car manufacturer building the hype for the "next big model" and all they give you is your current car, slightly resprayed and with a few dents in it.

FAIL, FAIL and....oh yeah, wait for it.....FAIL.

I didn't want to put this in here initially, but I think I have to: Is DICE perhaps losing the plot when it comes to multiplayer gaming? What does this mean for Battlefield 3?

I really don't like where this is going.

How can you compare it to COD:BO when that has not yet been released or so much as had a demo to play? Also, currently South Africa is not getting BO local servers, so that is a massive failure on the part of Activision and www.gameservers.com

As for Dice losing the plot, yeah, maybe just a tad. What bugs me is how they release a game despite all it's massive flaws. Then they release day one patches to fix things, then day three and so forth. To me it seems like a big race between Activision and Dice to get their products out first. Unfortuantely, Activision is pipping them with a better completed product at time of release each time. This does not mean I think COD is a better game, merely just less flaws and overall bugs ingame. I still prefer the Battlefield style of war shooter though. If both companies released both their games 100% bug and flaw free, I would still prefer Battlefield over the COD game type.

Anyway, I'm still looking forward to this and will go on Friday and get me a copy!

Hmmmm, can't weigh in on MoH. I'm anticipating Battlefield 3, with a possible Bad Company2: Vietnam purchase to tide me over until then :D

Watch, COD4 is gonna be the new Counter Strike. In 5-10 years, 12 year old pimple faced kids will still playing it, oh and Mappie!

MW2 is fun and all, but I prefer the squad and team based play of Battlefield and the use of vehicles, tanks, planes, choppers etc

After cancelling my pre-order and complaining about the BETA(Based on my hatred for the maps) I've decided to get it :D The reviews of the game all seem, well confused. Most of them seem to be judging based on whether it is like COD or not. They tear the game apart yet still give it average ratings, if it was that bad why is it not rated that way? Also they seem to all be split about what is actually wrong with the game, SP is better, MP is better, Visuals are horrid, Visuals are the best, Storyline is weak, Storyline is realistic etc etc.

So after watching normal guys reviews of the game on youtube, it seems that none of them can spot the problems picked up by the 'professional' reviewers. And it does look like a lot of fun. Sure it may have only 8 maps, but the Kandahar(?) and Dewagal maps look ace. So yeah, I'm getting it, BC2 is dead and this looks like the best option available at the mo.
