Monitors getting higher tax rate.

Well said Scooby_Doo. I also think they have this whole TV license thing all wrong. SABC that is. A monitor just by itself gives you no tv viewing at all. TV cards and aerials and satellite dishes do the job of actually getting us our signals.

It's like having a gun license but bullets do the actual damage and killing. You need both the TV and gun, but can't do anything without the ammunition.

Not necessarily, I mean with streaming of TV shows online now who needs a tuner card anymore? :P Definitely not agreeing with "them", just saying
 
But most of the online streaming you are already paying for... and there are a lot of them that are free! And most of those site's are user submitted so it has nothing to do with the website management or business.

In other words, why should we pay for something that's free in any case online? And what about those of us who don't have a tv license or a tv in our house for that matter... would this mean that we'll have to get a license now?
