After weeks of teasing from series co-creator Ed Boon, today the name of the next game in the legendary fighting game series has been revealed: Mortal Kombat X.

Ok, i for one am getting sick and tired of every mortal kombat trailer out there, i mean COME ON!, let poor sub-zero win 1 fight against scorpion! :(

Apparently Scorpion is Ed Boon's favourite character so that won't happen

The trailer do look at bit too much like CGI, and apparently it's not built on the Unreal 3 engine. So it will all depend if it's gonna be on previous gen consoles which engine they use. Hope they go for the Unreal 4 engine
 
Awesome! We've Ultra Street Fighter 4 and the new Smash this year and the new Mortal Kombat next year. Time for another period of great fighting games! Also judging by the trailer(and it's all CG, but if they hint at gameplay in it) they might be integrating some of injustice's interactive backgrounds into the game.

Im gona have to disagree... I think some characters are very beginner friendly, like scorpion, but the more you play and the more you learn the characters are actually extremely well balanced... Some are just easier to get to grips with... In my opinion...

I agree, but I think it depends largely on which MK game you are talking about. If you are referring to any of the good ones (MKII, MKIII and MK9), then yes they are exceptionally well balanced. Some of the others, I can't comment on, and the ones with larger rosters did struggle with balance.
