Mortal Kombat 2011 review (PS3) - MyGaming

Would you suggest this game to a person that is not that good at fighting games? What is the learning curve like?

Its not hard to learn the basics, can't say there are many fighting games that are. Its loads of fun if you have a few buddies around. It also has a tutorial showing you the basics.
 
My girlfriend can beat me by button-bashing sometimes... so it's easy to learn and then get into the serious moves and combos. I used to be a massive fan of Tekken, but to be honest, I think my Tekken 6 won't be played for quite a while, if ever again...
 
Jared, you can play on the beginner/easy difficulty to get your bearings and there are loads of training options; you can pretty much tell the bot how it must move in order to practice different moves etc.

And I played against my brother last night, and he just button mashed and kicked my ass a few times, despite the fact that I actually had some measure of practice.
 
I am actually quite good. Button mashing does not work on me. My mother tries to and I always kick her ass:p

But Yes it is the best mk in the franchise.
 
Thanks for the input guys! I may look at picking this up - I always enjoyed MK on the older consoles but only really button bashed.
