Mortal Kombat 9 coming to PC

My download finished at last, and boy oh boy, the graphics of the PC version doesn't disappoint:

Mini review:

Well, pertaining to sales, the game went to the number 1 spot on Steam's best seller list in less than 1h 30min after it was released on the store, there are more than 3000 people currently online on Steam playing the game. I'm pretty sure this number will increase to 5000+ by the weekend if not more. The game has the same online features like that of it's console counterparts (king of the hill, ranked and unranked matches, lobbies). I haven't played an online match yet, because the lobbies were empty. BUT.. now that I think of it, it's possible that the game can have a region locked multiplayer, will change my region and test it out, but will test that theory out and let you guys know.

But the biggest selling point is the graphics, my word.. I can't explain how crisp everything looks and it runs flawless on my GTX 670, but have read reports on the official steam community hub of people being able to run it no problems with a GTX 550Ti. So all in all, it's money well spent, and apparently the GMG -25% off coupon still works if you want to save some cash and grab a key via GMG than buying it on Steam directly for $30. Lastly, the game DOESN'T feature GFWL, so there is another reason to buy it. If you guys have any other questions, feel free to ask me and I'll answer them :)

Oh FFS! Reservation expired so had to checkout again.... no more 25% off :'(
EDIT: Idiot... just needed to proceed, the code was still there somewhere... so got teh game at $22.50 :D
Downloading.

hmmm i am tickled to possibly buy this, please let me know what you think guys.

Well, in my opinion it's a must buy on PC. The graphics are exceptionally good compared to the crappy console versions (no offence console gamers, I have both PS3 and Xbox 360 versions as well). Plus, if you buy it, you'll support fighting games on PC and show Warner Brothers and Netherrealm Studios that they should port future versions of Injustice and MK to PC as well.

The only "downside" to the game, is the region locked multiplayer. I made one gigantic post about it on the game's Steam community hub, but at least you can change your region to something like "UK London" to find some people to play against, because currently it appears as if I'm the only person in South Africa that bought the game :D (besides Dragonic of course ;) )

If you love fighting games and love Mortal Kombat, then it's a no brainer, buy the game :)

Because of the lack of proper interwebs at the moment, I'll be getting the retail copy, I hope SA retailers will be on the ball with that:).

Rest assured, we will join you. This seriously gives me hopes for an Injustice PC version:D

Yeah man I'm mostly doing it for the support. But I always loved MK but there were never PC versions of the newer ones. The last PC version I played was MK4.
Also it's good that this is a proper port aswell and no half assing was done. So I think we can give them our money and show dem.
Stone Cold, as soon as I'm online you can proceed to pwn me... Steam nic is Dragonic87

Sounds good, I added you on Steam just now. I'm by no means a pro either, but will be good to jam with someone locally :)

@Saint_Dee : No problem, please feel free to join us once you're sorted again with a connection ;)

@dragonic and stonecold,
Please let us know the result of the multiplayer.
I also want to get this, but is held back by the thought of MP (the lack of).

With Street Fighter 4, the lag of hits registering in MP was a major problem :(

not really my cup of tea, or coffee, or whatever you drink that you enjoy.

I didn't mind the arcade version when I was a kid, but hey we were starved for choice and spending hours at the little cornershop playing arcade games was a youth well spent

Damnit, I wasn't going to get it now, but you just made me snap. Grrrrrr.

Hahaha give in to it :D we need more of this behavior...

Anyways didn't play much of the game last night, was out... But played a bit of the ladder with Johnny Cage, wow so much getting used to but liking it. Also trying out the controller and then will also maybe go back to keyboard.... lots of testing and messing around to come.
Also lol headless mode? :D

I have to say, aside from the pre-rendered cinematics which look absolutely atrocious (same as console versions) the game looks stunning. I wish they just used the engine in real time for the cinematics, they look really bad and the differences in quality is quite noticeable.
