Mountain

A few steam reviews

"Great game, super calming and it's great fun to drag and drop the items that crash into your mountain. You feel like you're taking care of this mountain, like a tamagotchi but less lkely to die on you (unless you input the commands of course). The piano/xylophone keyboard is a great idea, but if only the keys made sense! Anyway, here's some of the tunes I've collected around that you can play"

"My girl said she needed a man to be her rock, so I became a mountain... We're getting married later this year! Thanks, Mountain!"

And a dude who has 4000 hours clocked on this

"This game is--
This game makes me feel like nothing else has before. It's a surreal experience in how you never stop learning new things about this mysterious mountain lost in a black void...
The way you feel when you start the game for the first time, and you have to do those silly drawings and you have no clue of the implications of them later on.
How curious you are at first dawn, when the mountain speaks to you for the first time.
When you figure out which keys do what, and why.
How satisfying it is to have you first piece of debris hit your mountain.
How you get to feel when you figure out how to move that silly piece of crap.
When you figure out what goes where and why.
When you realize that the mountain is you--
You are the mountain, you get to shape the world around you...
When you figure out how to play your favorite song on the keyboard.
How insignificant you feel when you scroll all the way out, only to see a bloom of light and a dot.
The sadness that fills you heart as your first item-- that you became so attached to-- slowly floats off into space, and you cannot do anything.
When you have to draw a loved one.
When you figure out that you are lost, and the simplist thing like this game can make you find yourself.
When you achieve Zen and realize that....
Mountain is Love.
Mountain is Life.
That is what this game is about."

but Solitude i will wacth you do whatever you about to do with this one :P

This has to be one of the more expensive games I have seen in a while :p

Hehe that's if you can even call it a game. At the moment I run it in a window while programming in the evening. The sounds are relaxing and the mountain has some interesting thoughts. Plus once in a while something smashes into the mountain. :)

McT Haha that's very cool! How long did you run it for? I don't have all that much on my mountain yet. :)

@Solitude, it has been running about 8 hours now. I got rid of a trash can and an alphabet cube. Didn't like the look of the trash can. The cube was a mistake :o

Wow, you've run it quite a bit! And how did you get rid of the trash can and alphabet cube? I didn't even realise that one can remove items. :)

With all these idling apps, game time doesn't mean that much anymore...

Game looks interesting though, will take a look tonight when I am at home.

I retract my comment, didnt understand at the time exactly was it was. Not too shabby an idea, not going to buy it, but from some of the weird game ideas....toast or bread or goats or whatever, this looks rather interesting. Might get it later.

Apologies for late reply.

To get rid of things on your Mountain is a little tricky. You need to left-click and hold down on the object. Shake it until it comes loose. You need to let is go as low down to the bottom of the Mountain as possible. Repeat this until you get it down below the Mountain line. You have to work it down as far as possible when it will eventually drift out of the Mountain's gravity.

I have seen that objects also go away on their own. I had a snazzy airplane which disappeared yesterday when I wasn't looking.

And as I type this, I see my garbage bin is back on the Mountain :D

I have gone through a phase where I am struggling to find a game that addicts me. Tried all my usual suspects and nothing grabs me. At least I can sit here and watch my "Mountain" while I am typing this or while I am trying to find the inspiration to play something. :o

I have two trash cans, a paper jet, a human skull, a chair, a coin, clock, a pin (from ten pin bowling)... and I lost my meteorite. My son will be upset about that. He was quite fond of the "lava-ball" :(
