Movies with magic / mages / wizards

Hi.

I've just watched the trailer of Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition, and tought of something I've been wishing for a while now.

I wish they would a good and proper Dungeons and Dragons movie. The Dungeons and Dragons movie released in 2000 was such a huge disappointment. I struggled to watch the whole movie.

I wish someone would make a propper movie, if there is, and I have missed it, please let me know. Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit are very fine movies, have watched them broken.

BUT, I want a movie with spell casting. Imagen some of the spells in the D&D games, Meteor Storm, Mechanus' Cannon (PST) Conjuration of things good and bad, enchantments, etc. The whole chanting, hands and letting it go.

Would be great if they could make Baldurs Gate type game into a movie. Not just a visual effects porn movie, but with a great story.

I guess it might be seen as controversial and satanic or what not these bored house wives might come up with. I'm a christian, but consider myself openminded enough to know the diffirence and to know watching something like that wouldnt make me cultist, same as playing CoD of BF wont make me crazed shooter. Heck, even my taste in music have raised a couple of eyebrows.

Anyway, thats what I would like to see...

Planescape Torment Spells

looooooooooooooooooads of more spells out there.

Well there was meant to be a wheel of time three part movie. But I haven't heard about it in ages. It would of had females wizards with powerful spells and such. And male wizards get hunted down because they go mad. It had a fantastic story but its twelve books long and the movies would of only been the first three(which where the best anyway.)

Obviously the Harry Potter movies fall under this category.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice was actually enjoyable.
Solomon Kane was a lesser known Van Helsing type movie.
Sleepy Hollow.
The Merlin series is good but there are two. The newer version when Merlin is younger and then Merlin mini series with Sam Neill from Jurassic Park fame.
Legend of the Seeker series was also very good, pity it was so short.
Willow - very old but pretty good.
There are the Terry Pratchett movies and animated series you can have a look at.
Ladyhawke.
Excalibur from the 1980's.
The Princess Bride.
The Beastmaster.
The Tempest - caution here it is not very good yet some did love it nonetheless.
Krull.
Dungeons & Dragons was OK for its time but will make you cringe.

Some will have what you are looking for others are just entertaining with hints of magic here and there.
Enjoy.
