Msi TF3 7950 evetech warranty:(

Hey guys so I got me a msi 9750 twin frozr 3 from evetech in late devember.
I havent done much gaming but now that ive had some more time on my hands im noticing the card gives me artifacts every once in a while. Sometimes it can give me the problem a lot and and sometimes I can go like 2 or 3 days with no probs.
I drove all the way from JHB south to take it to them on saturday. The problem is tgat they are testing the card themselves running msi kombuster and nothing is showing. I myself ran msi kombuster a few times to check the gpu and gpu memory temps and no artifacts during the stress tests.

I can be doing something as easy as browsing the net, browsing steam or even playing a game for it to happen.

Ive thought that it is my psu but i am busy using my brother's 6950 (+- same power I think) for a week and Im yet to experience any artifacting.
Some people say if this problem occurs take the memory voltage a little up but that to me is a problem as I didnt wanna void the warranty.

Sometimes I play a game and the ground has rocks and stones for example, all the rocks and stones will be artifacting, nothing else. I press alt and tab then return to the game and its gone.

Im a little worried that evetech wont find the problem. They said they have to find the problem first before they send it for warranty.

My specs are as follows

Mobo: asus sabretooth 990fx r2.0
Cpu: amd phenom 965
Memory: 8gb gskill eco ddr3
Psu: corsair tx750
Windows 7 ultimate 64
The gpu is the one with the 2x6pcie and not the 1x6pcie and 1x8pcie model.

Ive attached screenshots that I have sent them as well..
Any one experience this and maybe what the cause could be?

Any help will be appreciated

Things like this can be tricky..

Did you check the GPU fans / heatsink for dust build up etc?
Maybe you got a dud GPU and its starting to fail?
Did you check the power drawn by the GPU? maybe take your brother's card out and put yours back and see what happens.
Maybe your memory could be the cause as well

Hope you find some answers buddy :)

@hugo69er Where are you located mate? I will gladly test the card for you.
Evetech are kinda full of shit as well...It is most likely the GPU but it could be something else.

I know it sounds tardy but remove your GPU and blow out your pcie slots, make sure they are clean.

Howsit, im in the south of jhb. Theyve got the card. Im busy using my brothers club 3d 6950. My mother board is pretty new as well. They said they've tested it with hitman, skyrim and diablo 3 with no problems.
Could it be my power supply? Even though its running the 6950 fine? I got my power supply in December of 2008 so it is a little old?
Im not sure how to test power supply as I am no electrician and dont have any tools to do so.

Take your full rig and set it up there. Till it happens? huge hassle but will be effective

They said they gona send it in to the supplier but they cant promise anything.

If they come back and tell me the supplier cant do anything, then I will put the gpu back in my pc and check if its still there. If it is I will disable stuff like windows aero which I have read could work. If not I will disconnect my extra hard drives, dvd rom and anything else I can to check if its maybe not the power supply. If none of this works I will ask them if I can bring my pc to them. The problem with this is sometimes it doesnt happen for a day or 2 but then it can happen a few times in one day etc

Will wait to hear from what they have to say bout the supplier

So my card is back at evetech. They said the supplier did not find any problems and neither did they so I can come collect my card...
Not happy about this.
My pc has 4 parts that I have purchased from evetech which total R8500. Thought they would have made a plan for me and maybe swopped it out anyways.
Feels like k@k recieving something that isnt working leka and they wont swop it out.

Can a overclock on the cpu and nb cause artifacting? Maybe my new asus sabretooth cant handle the overclock?
I have a phenom 965 ocd to 3.8 ive ran prime for 5 hours and it passed.

I used to have a asus m4a89gtd mobo also ocd my cpu to 3.8 and was running a 6950 fine.

Now I have a sabretooth ocd the cpu to 3.8 and a msi 7950 and Im getting artifacts. If I run the 6950 I dont get artifacts

No a overclock on the cpu can't cause artifacts.
Its almost certainly the card. Like I said I'll have a look for you if you want bud.

Hey man, im still definitely gonna accept your help.
The 1st day I got the card back it was artifacting like crazy
For a whole week it hasnt done anything since I think last sunday. Thats what I tried to explain to them at evetech but they wouldnt budge.
How long do you think youll need the card?
