Music bringing back gaming memories

I don't know about you guys, but I often used to listen to whatever music I was getting into at the time while playing games (usually on a walkman), and nowadays hearing a certain song will bring back flashbacks of the game I was into at the time.

For instance, Led Zeppelin brings back memories of Tetris and Ice Climber, The Pixies brings back memories of Tomb Raider (and reading The Hobbit), Guns 'n Roses - anything from Use Your Illusion 1 makes me think of Doom. I remember a mix tape, one song that I recall was Pepper by Butthole Surfers, that brings back memories of Pagan Ultima 8, and maybe Diablo as well come to think of it.

On a similar note, hearing Fortunate Son by CCR causes flashbacks from Vietnam (BFBC2 Vietnam), but that's because it was the into music when you select the Vietnam menu.

Does that happen to anyone else?

Used to listen to a lot of (early) In Flames while playing Crazy Taxi. Whenever I hear something from those albums all I see is Crazy Taxi.

For me it's Rockafeller Skank by Fatboy Slim. It was one of the songs on rotation for Fifa 99, and to this day, every time I hear that song I can't help but think of Fifa 99, and I get a big itch to start playing some Fifa again

As a kid (with no internet) I used to play counterstrike 1.5 vs bots while New Found Glory blared on winamp in the background. Can't listen to them now without seeing the arctic or 1337 terrorists flash in my mind.

Same goes for dota, used to listen to Brand New (early stuff) when I still played that hehe..

There isnt a song in Road Rash soundtrack that isn't awesome. They introduced me to Soundgarden

Tribes 2 and SOAD Toxicity album....loved that album for some reason when playing Tribes 2 back then, particularly the one LAN we had a friends bar...one of thee most awesome LANs I have ever had.

Mine is a bit lame. Shania Twain - From this Moment came out somewhere in '99. Was in college that year and the people we were renting at played her album a lot. So now whenever I hear that song, it brings back memories of me playing Doom 1 & 2 with that song blaring in the background. One of the top reasons I got headphones...
