Musicians on MyGaming

Wow Rocksmith looks amazing! I see there are some people mentioning using an Acoustic with a pick up, anyone tried this? Im playing acoustic not electric and wouldn't want it to be a waste...

I dont want to buy it through steam because i need the cable, do any retailers it here ? Musica or BT games etc ?

I'd like to give a go with my acoustic also, but my Gibson SG probably wont let me :P

EDIT: I see the cable is on Kalahari for R329, how much does the game+cable usually bundle for?

The bundle is usually around R700.

I know it works for PS3, but maybe you can use a webcam or mic to pick up your acoustic so you don't need the cable on PC?

Its got a pickup with a input so i can plug it in normally. If i can find the game + cable in a shop for R700 il be stoked

Well there goes R700 :P Just ordered it, says it will be delivered by the 12th of March.

Is it usually quicker than what it says ?

Thanks dude! I'm so stoked!

You should try and get your hands on Rocksmith 2014.

It'll be a huge help to your playing and learning.

Sup guys. Also been playing for about 10 years. Played a few gigs with an afrikaans band in my stellenbosch days. Now the guitar is just gathering dust between work and my vita.

I bought the new rocksmith as soon as it came out. I played it about 4 times and then never went back. It really showed me my flaws. I taught myself to play, mostly by ear. So the whole where am I on the fretboard threw me. I dont think of it as being on the 3rd fret or 7th fret. I just kind of remember which note will be next or will sound good.

So I started jamming this game, but knowing most of the songs already, I found myself just playing the songs as I figured them out and forgetting to look at what the screen actually said I should play.

So my challenge this month is to go back and learn it the right way.

That's awesome man best of luck!

I'm currently hard at work learning 6 new songs for the new band to perform at the next show in May.

Yeah dude I know that feeling. I was bored one day so I decided to go to an audition. Not expecting anything. I was bad and nervous and couldnt play anything correctly because I was face to face with a human I didnt know.

1 week later I had to play at a festival somewhere after 1 rehearsal with the band. That was the worst week of my life trying to remember everything.

But the show went down smooth and I got really drunk so it was all good.

Played a local show on saturday night. I think we had about 20 - 30 of our friends there. Thats its. In the whole bar.
So we scrapped the cover charge and gave them all their money back and took the gig as a practice with people watching. We ended up having the best time ever!

Been propositioned to write another track. I was so taken aback by who it was from ...... will be another credit only (I don't have it in me to charge for it, I'm too much of a fanboi) but it's fine. Maybe build up cred this way like, heh.
