Musicians on MyGaming

Yeah I know what you mean. Well if you ever need drumming on your new project, let me know.

Cool bro, I'll keep you in mind if/when I decide to start writing/recording new stuff again. I used to use Acoustica Beatcraft for my drums, but I didn't really know what I was doing, lol.

I just spent a Sunday messing around with EZD. Acoustica Beatcraft looks pretty cool though. Might try it out.

Hi, I'm Dee, I make digital music (meaning I can't play any instrument for shit, aside from knowing how to fiddle with a piano), I also write lyrics. My music is also not of the rock variety which makes me doubt my contribution to this thread :o (and the fact that I can't play an instrument)... But yeah, that's Dee :D

Awesome thread this...

PS: You can listen to my tunes on my soundcloud page linked in my sig :D

I have no quarrel with you. Music is music regardless of the genre. I'll check out your soundcloud after work (which ends in 30 minutes thank god). Got any nice pictures of your setup? What sort of programs are you using?

No nice pictures really, I use Reason 5 for everything (maybe with Fruity Loops 8 running as a slave once in a while), at the moment my setup consists of my PC and my modest midi keyboard.

I've always loved messing around with a midi keyboard. I love using Logic for anything electronic. It's a Mac OS only program but my word is it the easiest and most superior program I have ever used.

I've spent many a night contemplating buying a Mac Mini or Macbook Air just to use Logic.

I really want to get myself a decent soundcard and mic (preferably a condenser microphone)... Any suggestions?

are you sure?
isn't sennheiser pretty good as well?
..........I actually have no idea

Shure is the only name I know when it comes to mics and that's only because they're an Idols sponsor :p

so you're probably right :D

Would this be for vocals? The Rode NT1-A is a fantastic condenser microphone. It might be a little pricey but I don't know what your budget is. You can also check out the Shure PG42.

In terms of a soundcard, you'll want an external one as you'll be connecting via XLR and internal soundcards aren't for studio use anyway.

The M-Audio Audio Buddy is a great entry level soundcard. Heck it's great at mid-level too.

@OP, very cool thread!

This is a quick Google Images of my weapon:

Yamaha YAS62II-S
This is my fourth year of playing, and I love it! Practicing scales still sucks though...

Edit: these both look pretty legit, even the pricing
