MW2 ping sucks?

I've recently jumped on the online gaming bandwagon again and I started my pwnage with Modern Warfare 2 over the weekend.

For some reason though my pings are really kak: the game tries to search for pings > 60 and then steadily increases until it reaches > 150. It takes a total of a couple of minutes before it finds enough players and loads the match.

Is this normal? Should it be taking this long? I'm using a Cell C Speed Stick to get online and normal browsing and such is plenty quick.

This is normal, there are just not enough south africans playing the game at the moment so you are being matched with internationals. The ONLY way to play it online is to "friend" a couple of SA players and join their game, but I'm afraid most of them have move on to COD BLOPS.

The Cell C wireless speedstick is not the problem, the majority of gamers using it give positive reports. Do a pingtest as well, local and international to make 100% sure. Post the results if you can, would be interesting to see.
