MW3 vs BF3

Seeing as each and every thread related to mw3 or BF3 is being derailed into a "BF3 vs MW3" discussion. Here I present you with your very own thread to discuss and argue about which unreleased game is going to be the best.

battlefield's frostbite engine does look very nice. but until we get to beta test it is really impossible to form an opinion.

BF3. Period.

It's just the better game, it's not a CoD killer (As the two games are completely different) but it is the better FPS simulator.

BF3 without even having to think twice. COD has just turned in to a money cow I might play the SP, but definitely not buying it. Already preorderd my BF3.

No man COD is like NFS like C&C, a must have in our day and age at each iteration :)

Well if the FrostBite engine's capacity for destruction is anywhere near as detailed and awesome as I imagine it will be then hands down it will have to be BF3. MW3 will have to be quite innovative in gameplay ideas if they're going to outshine that teamwork and cover destruction systems that BF3 have in place

IMO Cod is way more fun or used to be(Black Ops Failed). I never got into BF2. None the less, I will be getting BF3 this year. I am only getting COD after a month or two if it actually works without any issues.

Although the GFX looks much better on Battlefield this does not concern me much, because I am still running a GTX275. I wont really be able to take advantage of titles this year. I might upgrade in 2012 if we all not dead.

Without Infinity Ward I rate MW3 will flop just like Black Ops (Except Zombies is still awesome :D)
Now that EA has hired most of the old IW Workers Activision will not be able to compete
The reign of CoD is over :p

Battlefield and Call of duty is apple and pears. Each offers a unique gaming experience.

With Call of duty you pretty much much know what to expect, only with different weapons and a few small changes. While some complained that Black Ops was bad, many enjoyed the game and still do. Not everyone wants to play another Counter-Strike clone competitively, they rather enjoy the other game modes and the full weapon experience that Call of Duty brings.
And quite frankly, did anyone really bought Black Ops or even Modern Warfare 2 for the single player campaigns? It was a nice feature, to play when the internet is on the fritz, but it was not the main attraction, for me at least.
But I have to say that Call of duty is getting a bit old now, and players are looking for something new. But for Call of duty players it means that they are looking for a new close combat, fast action game, a run and shoot game. I don't think a Battlefield 2 game will appeal to them.

Battlefield 1942 was lots off fun. Battlefield Vietnam was funky, Battlefield 2 was near perfect, if you consider the experience and not the crappy hit detection, net coding and powerful aircraft with the cues of aspiring pilots not capturing objectives. It was popular for 5 years, which is very well done if you think about it.
Battlefield 3 will have to be pretty amazing to achieve the same success. However, if you consider Bad Company 2 and Medal of honor, the already announced changes to Battlefield 3, the lack of the commander and a singleplayer campaign, then it indicates that Battlefield 3 will be different from Battlefield 2. Whether it will be bad still remains to be seen.
DICE and EA should create a excellent Battlefield game, not a game to draw the Call of duty players. Each game has its own attractions.

I suppose that both games will be criticized by some players that had different expectations or simply likes to complain, each will have its own fans arguing why their title is the better one, and in between will be those who enjoy both games and will not have time to visit forums because they are to busy playing.

BF3 will kick butt, I'll only be getting COD after about a month, will check up on some reviews first and if there's any issues with the game. Have always been a COD fan as i enjoy the game, but was a bit disappointed with Black Ops.

For the time being, BF3 looks superb, i do however like the idea of Activision to buy your own skins for your character. But thats just me, other might not like it. would be very good if you can customize your character so much that it's 1 of a kind.

At least we can say that the trailer did its job.

Wait for the beta people... Each game may surprise you in being better or worse than you expected.

In the red corner we haaave MW3! In the blue corner we have BF3!

Ding Ding! Round 1! Fight!

Aw, looks like the fight's over, MW3 just couldn't keep it up! ;)

Its a vicious circle, I've heard many people say, "Im not buying this game" before with the MW2 release and BO release and every time it beats the sales record. how come ?

I will buy both as i am a War FPS junkie. Totally different games as most people say. I play COD if i want to "trek n Rambo" on myself and used to enjoy playing BC2 with friends.

I have pre-ordered BF3 but will probably get MW3 to look at it from a reviewer's point of view. If the game doesn't get sent to me for review purposes first anyway.
