MWeb 2mbps for Xbox LIVE?

Hello,

I've just recently joined the forum and I would just like to ask you guys for your opinion. I am a high school student and I have just finished writing exams. So this my position: I want to get 2mbps MWeb uncapped during the holidays for some good ol' online gaming. I'm not sure what the upload speed is on that but I think it's enough to host 2 people on Fifa 13 {which I have):D. Now I also have the option of getting a 1mbps line and getting more games. My last option would be getting my mother to get 4mbps, which costs an arm n a leg, n pretty much no new games, so I'd rather go with the first 2 options. So, what do you think?

PS:I'm also planning to get COD:Black Ops II so my line would be used for that too. Nd I'll be running it wired from the living room to my room.

Uncapped doesn't have any inherent advantages for gaming. Capped will work just as well.

Technically 4mbps do have a slight latency advantage, but its like 2ms so barely worth mentioning.

1mbps and 2mbps should both have 512k upload afaik.

I'd go with 1mbps option. MWeb or Openweb.

If ADSL pricing is that important, Cybersmart have some great deals atm...
Not a fan to be honest...

Welcome to the forum, honestly and this is just my opinion, if the majority of your time will be spent playing games online then get the 1mbps line and loads of games. The ping is exactly the same and as far as I know the upload bandwidth is the same for 1mbps and 2mbps lines. I've hosted an 16 player match of mw3 (xbox) on a 1mbps line and it worked fine. I dont see how a 1vs1 fifa game would struggle on it either.

You did not mention what platform you are using, regardless I would say Black ops 2 and battlefield 3 is a must at the moment for online play.

I'm on the 2mbps uncapped with afrihost , just upgraded last week , seriously no change what so ever seems like its actually worse now, playing call of duty online is so frustrating feel like breaking my xbox lol

The only difference between the two is that on the 2 mbps line will have less ping on international servers than 1 mbps

Nah, ping between 1mb and 2mb is negligible - and I've had both. I'd go with 1mb uncapped and more games.

lol i am planning on joining Mweb next year , planning to go 4mb next year hopefully if the financial advisor/manager (wife) allows me to

I'm thinking of upgrading to a 10 mb line next year but that would mean allot less games :( But I can finally enjoy the wonders that is free to play games :)
