MWEB investigating HoN servers

Lol, they're just going to start driving more and more traffic their way.

So, they really want to kill HON in SA it seems ...... I wouldnt go Mweb ever, and a normal IS account will probably also have 'peering' issues to them....

IS doesnt have peering issues with Mweb(peering done for free), they peer with IS and Telkom directly. Which means you can access both their servers fine without latency on any of their servers.
:D
Mweb = latency to Telkom
Telkom = latency to Mweb
IS = no latency anywhere.

lol Mweb are really taking over. Pretty smart from their side I must say.

Yes but they must just be careful before they start sinking to TelSCUM's level and start becoming a poster child for a monopoly in SA gaming. I suppose they can't help that the Telkom pricks won't fall in line like the rest of the ISPs but ya.. I'm too gatvol to think about something meaningful to say about this..

Fair enough!

If I were a HoN player I'd be extremely pissed to be honest. S2 Games clearly only have their own interests at heart, and simply couldn't care less about leaving the local community "stranded" while they play a game of silly politics.

That's one game I'll gladly give a miss in future :)

I don't get it... doesn't HoN work on the same principle of p2p games as warcraft3 does... or is everything server side?

Server side, no map hacks and other people's lag don't effect you. Think they mentioned they had 250 dedicated servers around the world. That's why they wanted to work with 1 ISP instead of 3, they already got their hands full.

Aaaah, ok. Didn't know that. Yeah... then it is buggered. Though with the brilliant netcode it surely shouldn't be a problem? For clan practice I'm sure that UB HoN could be used to great effect though.
