My Band nominated for a South African Metal Music Award!

Hi guys, I know theres a good couple metal heads here! Check it out!

So to our surprise our band has recieved some nominations to a few categories for the 1st South African Metal Music Awards.

What is strange is the fact that its gone from a large panel of judges of guys in the scene to a collect-a-thon vote popularity contest on Facebook.

oh ya we are Amidst the Ashes and I think we'd probably fit the 'best newcomer' category the most.
 
BAH! I filled this in yesterday, so cannot do it again. Not even sure who I picked for new bestcomer.
 
I think I may have voted for your guitarist as best guitarist, as I didn't know anyone else and I liked his surname :D

Haha Martin Minnie per chance? I call him Marty Mini Me, if you did thats awesome because he is a seriously great guitar player and one of the friendliest dudes ever!

Never heard you guys before, heard of you though.

Don't have sound at work so I'll have to wait till later to hear - so I'll reserve my vote.
Surprised Chris from Infanteria isn't on their for best guitarist though.

Ya, its only fair to vote if you've heard the bands. I appreciate your reserved vote, It gives it way more meaning than simply 'the band with the most friends wins' type deal.
I think there's probably a lot of great musicians not on the list unfortunately, Im surprised Red Helen or The Drift don't feature anywhere on the list too. Those bands are too incredible.
 
Yeah I totally agree. I have two friends in Infanteria and I know there are probably better bands out there :p - even though they're one of my favorite SA metal bands.

I had to put up with bands and their friends i.e. friends only sticking around for their friends band back in the day... it was so lame.

Nah man, MSN is the bomb! Wish I had Facebook so I could enter competitions and vote for great bands like these. :/ don't discriminate against us! Congrats on your win :)
