My internet is crawling

I've been having problems since Sunday. Websites will load forever - literally. Sometimes when I stop loading the page the content of that site appears. And sometimes if I refresh the website loads. Google search always works, but I'm having trouble entering websites. As far as I can tell it's websites from all over - SA and international. :(

I'm with WebAfrica, but I've also tried Afrihost's free account - the problem persists on both ISPs.

What concerns me though is that I even struggle to log into my router - the pages there also doesn't want to load.
I have some Belkin router, not even 1 year old.

Any idea what the issue can be?
My differential at this moment:
1) Router
2) Telkom
3) Some extension on my browser (Chrome) maybe?
I did check and couldn't find anything unknown or new...

Unfortunately it can be anything FriedPet. My internet has also been bad both at home and at work. The one using LTE and the other ADSL. Both with Afrihost though.

First thing I would try is a different router to test if it isn't hardware failure.
Do you connect via wifi ? Maybe reset the router to defaults and then reconfigure ?

Checked the exchange for line congestion? Most likely the case.

Do a tracert to any website, post results here. Can then pinpoint where the traffic struggles.

My internet is broken, it seems to work in the morning but not in the evening, tried 2 different routers and same problem. The line syncs fine, but it gets stuck on Connecting, and just never makes it though to connected. Afrihost has logged a line fault with Telkom, so now I wait...

Start by checking the line attenuation and noise margin

http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...Margin-quot-and-quot-Line-Attenuation-quot-be

once you have confirmed that you can do the following.

confirm you are on the latest firmware
turn off your router and ping its IP ( ensuring there are no conflicts )
change the IP of your router from .1 to .254 just to be safe
disable DHCP and set a manual address and test it again

i cannot say any one of these will sort the issue but start here as they are basic things can can cause larger issues

Strange, my phone could connect wirelessly to the router and log in, but there was no internet connection. I lodged a fault with telkom, and probably 30 minutes later the internet started working again, flawlessly so far.

Thanks though, Guys:D
