Because I've had a Pentium 4 for the last 8 yearws, which was good for gaming for the first 4...
I really want to get back into it!
Ah dude, that sucks, well welcome aboard

You see, I have played about 10 hours of games in the last 4 years... hence not focusing on a massive GPU. On carbonite, I can get a GTX570 for in the region of R2200, so that should count as a heavy GPU
Also, I bought the entire thing for R1k, including CPU, mb, ram, 2 x 1TB hdds, and case and cpu, so it was not by choice
Next, I need to get a new GPU. That little EN210 is missing in the case...So GTX570 / 580 / 7870 / 7950 may be on the cards. Which of these would you prefer and why? I am kinda leaning towards the 7950, due to the 384bit and that it's newer tech....
And then after that on my list, I would like to get:
- Corsair H100/i Closed water loop
- SSD
- Better RAM (currently using Kinston DDR3 1333 value ram, could do with some dominator triple channel kits)
- By the time I get to this step, I would probably have to change the core 3 again.....
All input greatly appreciated!!!
I am so goddamn excited about this build!!!!
no Evering, you got it all wrong. This isn't a thread where we all post our rig specs, this is where TBlaar brags about his and rubs it in our faces like a fat kid heating a KFC bucket in front of the homeless shelterMy gaming pc is
i5
8Gb RAM
GTX470 ;-)
Oh wow, I spent more on my gpu than you did on your whole computerThat PSU really makes a world of difference, it's looking stunning.
Eew! IDE!
j/k , nice build for what you paid.
LOL, That's an IDE DVD RW, need to remove that ASAP! Want to get a Sata BluRay writer, can pick one up for about R800 nowadays.
I was also wondering where I can get some nicer SATA cables, The ones I have suck, would like to get a nice rounded cable or sum sum...
I'd say it's about 50/50 looking at the comparisonsWell, around whatever that 660Ti costsAbout R3k....
Someone told me last night though, that I should much rather go for the 7870 or 7950.... Apparently since some driver updates those cards are insanely fast... Now I'm not sure any more...
What's your opinions?
