My New YouTube Show

The Geekly Weakly is my new YouTube show - filmed, written, edited and starring me. This is the very first episode of the show (mistakes aplenty), but please give it a watch and let me know what you guys think in the YouTube comments.

First time doing this, so cut me some slack haha :D

Cool man! Well done on the first video.

My feedback: you look a bit awkward in front of the camera, I'm sure you'll loosen up over time - show off that charisma! Also, get a better audio recording setup because the voice sounds a bit hollow and tinny and picks up the echo from the room.

Keep up the good work!

I would suggest maybe just taking a seat? Like AngryJoe, lvlCap (when he does his vlogs) and those guys, always look so relaxed and chilled when sitting down, it will also stop that constant sway walking like you're filming on a fishing boat. I mean this in no disrespect.

I like the opening sequence though for sure.

I do agree with Cicero regarding the swaying though :P - looks like you really need the toilet BAD in a few parts :D
First video though - so maybe it was just a bit of jitters and what not.

yea that made me just listen than watch. But its very hard to do this type of thing. Still one of the things would still like to do is casting but im still to noob ><
 
Just watched the show. A very good show for your first outing. The comments made about the sound is valid, would like some better sound quality. The walking around thing is something that will be sorted as you get more comfortable in front of the camera. Quality wise it looks awesome, the content good and related to gaming and movies within SA. You have my sub.

Give us more details on where you see this show going to. What are you planning on covering in each show, and how often will you upload videos?
 
Thanks for all your feedback guys - appreciate it. Sound is something I will work on, but will stay as is for now until I source a better microphone.

As you can imagine, it's 10x harder than it looks and this isn't something that comes naturally for me, so hopefully over time I will become more confident in front of the camera.

I plan to be releasing a new episode next week with all the feedback in mind. :)

What Murph said. At first it looked like it wasn't being done right, but then it like came together.
 
Very good, I'm subbed! :) Just a couple of minor things I noticed:
  • Your background: You should get one that's a little more subdued in colour and more easy on the eye and maybe also gives a perception of depth, like this: Capture.JPG

  • Speech: Just work on getting your speaking sounding more natural and flowing a bit better. At the moment it sounds like you're reading from a script or you're reciting from memory, it should sound like you're just talking to us as if we're there listening.

Otherwise I think it's really great! I like the topics you covered and your take on them, can't wait for the next episode!
