Nice Rig, getting a bit old though :P . I seriously wonder how the performance of that thing is .

you have your drives in the wrong way?

Surely that cables should be at the back?

But nice rig non the less.

Nice Rig, getting a bit old though :P . I seriously wonder how the performance of that thing is .

performance is better with 2x 5870 than 2x 7870 (i need two for 120 fps @ 120hz eyefinity 3) i tried them in our shop the old ones are at least 20 % faster in bf3, sacred 2 and diablo 3

as for the old mobo its getting a rampage v 990fx soon and 2x 60gb ssd in raid "drool" so it will be fresh again.

as for my case. i have had it years and wont be changing it soon its cool and silent and i like the way it looks

you should rather have gone Intel imo, but I guess it's a choice you made :P

hehehe i thought long and hard and trust me i have a 2600k at the office with a 660ti and i do not regret my decision i have always had a soft spot for amd also people will fight over intel and amd for generations to come fact of the mater is and this is how i reasoned

Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz 4 Core 8MB R3150.00 + GIGABYTE Z77X-UD5H R3009.00 TOTAL R6159:mad:
AMD FX 8150 Bulldozer 3.6GHz 8 Core 16MB R2318.00 + GIGABYTE 990FXA-UD5 R2380.00 TOTAL R4698:)

SAVE R1461:D and get double the cores and double the cache.

most of the upcoming games will use all 8 cores

also you now have R1500 minimum to spend on other things. i have tested all these systems as we sell them to customers. the gain between these two are less than 5% in gaming "or 2fps". also in 3d design and multi screen drawing the amd is upwards of 40% faster "Tested this with auto cad 2013"

also something i have found is that this CPU (8150) will gladly run @ 4.1ghz X8 or 6.3 ghz x4 on its stock air cooled cooler without any hesitation or serious heat problems. now it beats the Intel both in value and performance.

to come close to that spec with the Intel you will need an h80 from corsair @ R1190

witch means in overclock form you now save R2500:D:D:D that a radeon 7850 for Free.

All Prices are from rectron & AMD from asbis @ 10%. so that's retail prices
