So based on Mr Crab's suggestion, who would be interested in forming a MyG Ark tribe and what server should we base ourselves on?

I'm all for servers with multiplyers but I think 50x is a bit hectic, especially for new players still trying to learn the basics of the game

I think the Ark Evolved server might be a good bet

Yeah, some are 12 hours but it's all determined by tame rate multiples. The problem with it is that if the server has like 10x rate for resource gathering they could level your base easily in one weekend. I would say stay away from pvp servers, unless your willing to loose your 6 hours to tame Dino gets killed while you sleep.

many servers put rules to prevent stuff like that, but none of the aervers I've been on never have good admins.
 
Yea i agree 50x is a bit crazy if we are going to start a tribe and play "long term", however as said above, we don't want to be taming dino's for 6 hours :P

So i would say Malice's suggested server is perfect, at 5x rates it isnt crazy fast but it wont take us hours on hours to tame some dino's. We could get a decent base set up fairly quick.

I haven't tried the server yet, but http://www.arkevolved.co.za/ gets my vote for now.

Just a tip for some people who might have the same problem i had, if you try join a server that has mods, it will try download the mod before joining the server, if you have your steam set to not allow downloads during gameplay, then it will get stuck downloading the mod and you will keep getting timeout issues.

Geez, you're not kidding! Your mate has over 60 24-hour days invested in just ARK and CoH2.

(BTW - did you leave the Barbie Party stat on there for a bit of balance, or just want to tease your mate?)

sounds good :D just tell rislem (the admin on that server) zergling told you about the server.

that server also has Teamspeak setup. (just ask rislem to create a channel for mygaming)

haaaaa what kickback are you getting? :p

We can also use the eAe TS. I already setup a channel there when I started playing

It is possible for your played hours to be a bit skewed though, in the early days when everyone was playing mainly on official servers, it often to ages to get onto a server due to it being too busy, people would sit in queus waiting for ages, and because there was no "disconnect" rule for idle players, people used to just leave the game open and stay logged in to avoid having to wait in queues next time they played.
 
Sorry for the double post, I'm gonna start playing after work, i think we should decide what spawn point to all spawn in to make it easier to find eachother, also which teamspeak will we use?

I vote maybe E2 or E3, it should be somewhere that's near a mountain for ore mining / bird taming and also one that only has was spawn point for that position

sounds good to me. from my experience N1/2/3 tends to be very populated

Yea same, I really like the area just below the top W3, but by choosing W3 everyone has a chance to spawn on the entire west coast.

Gonna start in 2 min to start getting XP, do you have a character on this server yet?

There are 2 Arkevolved servers, this is the one with the 5x Rates

ArkEvolved.co.za PVPVE (5xR)(NO GIGA'S) - (v235.3)


EDIT: It seems i havent played this in a while and E2/3 is now a swamp so its not a good starting point, I have now spawned in S1 instead

EDIT 2: After many unsuccessful starting attempts i have now made a simple wooden 6x6 house, this server allows you to see your position on the map, so it helps with finding eachother, so the temporary base is at Lat +/- 47 / Long 21, just above the river to the north, i have created a MyGaming tribe so just need to add people as they join.

i play on the WRG ark server been on that for a while busy building a bridge to connect the 2 islands :D

Not sure if you guys have played "The Center" map yet. It's well worth looking at.

I was pretty much done with ARK, completely bored out of my mind when this map was shown to me by my gf (We play a lot of ARK together). I immediately fell in love with it, the experience is completely different. Definitely worth checking out. I should also mention the map has been selected by the devs to be integrated into the main game as an official map as of May 2016.

Haven't been on for quite some time. promise I'll try and make a plan this weekend
