[MyGame] Dark Souls

I managed to kill Sif. She had quite plain attacks but still managed to fool me quite a few times so it was quite a tricky fight.

I have noticed a pattern with my boss fights. I always do very good in my very first fight of each boss, then 3 or 4 subsequent fights I all do rather badly before I start doing better and killing the boss. I think I do well in my first fight because of the extra caution, not knowing what to expect. Then in my follow ups I'm too brash, thinking I know what to do.

Even though I know this now, it still happens. Oh well.

Next on the list, Hydra!

Haha

The Hydra was actually really easy to kill, you just have to get close.

I also killed the Stray Demon when I went to Undead Asylum to get my Rusted Ring.

Started with Sen's Fortress, died and lost about 15k souls

You killed the Stray Demon? Crikey. It kept one shotting me and no matter what I did I couldn't stay behind it. I gave up on it eventually.

But yes, the Hydra is surprisingly easy if you get into the right spot!

I headed to blight town a little later than some. It wasn't to bad. But those flying things pissed me off.

Those mosquitoes are even more annoying than the real life ones.

But I rang the second bell. Quelaag was much easier than I anticipated. After that I thought I may as well go down the hollow tree and see what's there. So I arrived at Ash Lake where I fought another Hydra. This one was more difficult the previous one but I managed to kill it on my third try. Otherwise there's not much at Ash Lake really. There's a dragon right at the end that one can pray to and there's some creatures that drop twinkling titanite. I've been farming those to upgrade my fancy red robe set.

I think I might have missed the hollow tree :/

I did find a "ramp" that went up to a tree with a hole in it, with a body to loot. Didn't see or notice anywhere else to go from there so I went out again. Oh well.

It's impossible to know about if someone doesn't leave a hint. It's behind two illusionary walls. It also doesn't look worthwhile visiting. There just isn't much. Except those frog things that curse you and mushroom people that take a million hits to go down.

I didn't get a lot of time to play this weekend but I just had the most fun! I'm not normally one for multiplayer but I just helped 5 people beat Quelaag. I left my summon sign by the bonfire and helped out people. I made about 60000 souls in the process! Two of the summonings didn't work out with the summoner dying but the rest of the time we kicked ass.

The whole reason why I started doing it is to get sunlight medals because I need 10 for my covenant and then I can upgrade my lightning spear.

I haven't tried out this summoning thing yet.

I don't know which is worse, Blighttown or Sen's Fortress. I struggled so much to make progress into the damn place. I eventually got to the bonfire after a bit of raging. I only killed two of the Prowling Demons, after several failures with the other two I decided to move on and I'll come back to them later.

I picked up a lightning spear and I've been using that quite a bit, it really kicks ass. I just want to get my Claymore up to +10 so that I can make it lightning.

That's probably why I quit during Sen's Fortress last time around. If you are struggling there then I don't know how I'm going to get through it. I wasn't even able to beat the Stray Demon.

Cool and I see you mention you picked up a lightning spear. I didn't even know you get those as weapons. I've been using the miracle:

Which I want to upgrade as part of my covenant:

Going full cleric this playthrough. :)

It just took some perseverance. This game really does punish you when you become complacent.
My biggest problem was running out of estus flask charges each time, which made it difficult to advance. Is there some way to have more charges? I know I've had like 10 charges sometimes but I have no idea how I managed to get it.

I also made the stress relieving decision of leaving two of the Prowling Demons alone for now. They are easy enough one at a time, but 2 are a bit tough.

Wow! You went through the areas with just 5 flasks! You are much better at this than you think.

To get 5 more flasks you have to offer up a humanity to reverse the hollowing to become human and then use one humanity to kindle the bonfire which will give you 5 extra flasks. You can also give Firekeeper souls to any of the firekeepers to upgrade your flasks.

Ooooh. The upgrades I have done. Thanks Soli!

Aww shucks you're making me blush :D
