This will likely be a rather frustrating experience and make me hate the game![]()
Enjoy the game!

I have chosen to play the game on its Hardest difficulty "Give Me Deus Ex" (for my now 2nd playthrough).
Just the first few minutes, and it's fairly lethal!

Adam being patient X was my first thought as well, after reading some emails around the office. So, let's talks about the start of the game. The story and the references of Deus Ex.
An interesting aspect to note is the name of the protagonist; Adam Jenson. It is no accident that his name is Adam. It is a reference to the Adam from Adam and Eve, the first human. Deus Ex is full of religious reference. The name itself is short for the Latin phrase "deus ex machina", literal meaning being "God from the machine". It's extremely apt name given the story and world created by the developers. There are a lot more references to religion throughout the DX universe, for example, the name JC from the first game. Adam, in this case, is a reference to the first real human to get augmented without any side effects from the augmentations, like needing neuropazine to function properly. He is the first in line that will be the birth of augmentation technology and its wide spread acceptance in the world. Which is why my first theory put forth is that he is Patient X, the donor for Megan's research. It's probably why Megan has a relationship with him in the first place. But all these secrets will be revealed later in the game, either true or false.
I also decided to start the game on the highest difficulty setting.
I was planning on starting the game and doing a violent playthrough, as my first playthrough was mostly stealth; however once I started I decided on a stealth playthrough again. I want to do my best to get the super sneaky, no death achievements.
I'm hoping just alarming an enemy (but no physical alarm going off) does not prevent me from getting it.
Edit:
I also see I last played the game in 2012. It's not that it aged badly, but I honestly didn't think it would look this "dated". I remebered it looking prettier. Rose tinted glasses are a hell of a thing.
I'm still enjoying the game so far though, I'm somewhere in the assembly labs I think.
From what i've read, as long as no ALARM goes off, for the foxiest hound achievement you're fine. you might just lose some XP at the end of a mission, but i'm not sure.
I don't have to knock anyone out, but I do it for the nom xpI also started yesterday on the hardest difficulty. Decided to try stealth. I was worried at one point when the guards become suspicious but that seems okay. I'm in the warehouse now. So far I haven't had to knock anyone out.
