[MyGame] Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I don't have to knock anyone out, but I do it for the nom xp :)

You need to knock out more than 10 guys to make up for the lost "ghost" bonus at the end of a mission, again "or so I read". I think unless it gets REALLY tedious, I'm going to be going for a "touch absolutely noone" type run hehe

Yeah I knock out every single lesson I encounter/see on the map. You also get more xp if you do a non lethal, melee take down vs. knocking them out with a stun gun, for example.

Perhaps I should go more stealth and just avoid enemies.

I was trying to avoid all contact and just sneak around them all without being spotted.

Also what I thought I'd do initially, but then I remembered that you get nice xp from taking them down, so I did that.

In the prologue you have to skip them though, as you can't do takedowns yet and you only have the combat rifle.

In the prologue they all ate lead.

Luckily I'm not going for the achiement.

Oh and DieGrootHammer I never even considered the connotations of Adam.

This game... was going to play for an hour, landed up playing for 2.5hrs. Although I never finished the original Deus Ex, I played a fair bit of it (especially the demo which had the first mission), this game is definitely true to the original in many ways.

Managed to ghost the first mission, it's not too difficult considering that there are some nice and convenient airducts around.

Oh and I found a meme reference

So, I got up to the second last room of bad guys before the first boss fight, Barret. I've also killed my first person. I accidentally shot a guard in the head with a stun gun and he died instantly. RIP Guard #45 . Other than him I haven't killed anyone, and have ghosted each area so far. But then again on the easiest difficulty that isn't that challenging.

For the first boss fight, if you are doing a stealth run and don't necessarily have the equipment to take him, stock up on mines and frag grenades. Any boss will go down in 3 to 5 direct shots with a grenade or 3 to 5 mines, depending on your difficulty. There is also a rocket launcher just lying around on your way to the boss fight.

I didn't have a lot of time to play last night, so I didn't make a lot of progress. I finished just before the door where Zeke awaits. Hopefully I can get some more time to play this weekend.

I got through the warehouse mission. While chatting to Malik she lets slip that Adams DNA was made for Augmentation. I can see DieGrootHammers point that Megan used Adams DNA without his knowledge.

I'm in Detroit city now, need to break into the police station.

It's been long since a MyGame had so many comments of what people are doing. I like it! You actually make me want to play it now but I have too much on my plate.

Also in the police station area, although I ran around picking up all available sidequests, most of which involve the police station.

Are you meant to get some kind of mission debrief? Since I've been skippin all cutscenes (this will be my 4th attempt at playing this game, furthest I got was the gang infiltration before getting over it), I may have missed it. But I was never presented with a screen telling me i ghosted this, or set off X amount of alarms...Are they part of the cutscenes?

There is a screen (more like superimposed words) after completing the mission. Like the one after Zeke, you get xp for saving the civilians, getting the typhoon. You get 500xp for ghost.

This is the closest image I can find. Basically they just tick of the quests.

...aaaaaand downloaded (together with Missing Link DLC). Last night I was so enticed to play after reading this thread that I decided to join in. Now to find time to play.

I also tried, started, cant remember the start - I kept dying. I remember I suck at this game. Also running the Missing Link DLC

I don't have the Missing Link installed but maybe I'll try finish that when I complete DX:HR.

I think that is what is confusing me, I played it last without the dlc - this changes it so much that if you dont know the controls - which I cant remember it was a nice fail
