[MyGame] Game 3 Voting

It looks like Shadowrun Returns is currently leading. (Didn't actually count) It's a great game but if it wins then I'm going to skip this MyGame and play Shadowrun: Dragonfall because I've played Returns already. :)

Hehe yeah I also have the idea it is leading, and if it wins I'll also play Dragonfall, because I finished Returns twice but have yet to finish Dragonfall.

I haven't played any of them so my vote can be for either Shadowrun, if it comes to that.

Why skip? Why not run multiple [MyGames] together?

I've considered it but have decided against it.
There's no rule stating that we can't do multiple games at once? Might even increase the participation...

Maybe Jan can "advertise" the [MyGame] initiative on the front page and the emailers so we can get more people involved.

No, there's no rule. But what will happen is that we will have 2 people playing one game. 2 other people playing a different game. 2 more people playing a different game and then we can just as well post in their separate threads or continue as usual without having a MyGame.

For instance we are a couple of people now who will be playing No Man's Sky and we will be posting about it in the NMS thread. If we make MyGame a multiple game thing then it becomes a normal gaming forum event.

You do make a point that we can make it a franchise thing however. For instance when Dark Souls is picked it can be any game in the franchise. Or Borderlands it can be any of the Borderlands games. Or in this case any of the Shadowrun games.
Jan, what do you think? Also what do the rest of you think?

I like that MyGame is a book club for games like we discussed while playing. But maybe to increase participation we will have to do something like this.

There are enough threads about other games. Mygame is more about a united journey a shared story.

I agree 100% with this. I think we should stick to having a specific game be the "book club game" for two months at a time, where we can all experience it together and chat about it. Thing is, even if you decide not to participate, like Solitude would with Shadowrun, you can still contribute to the thread. Soli played the game before, so he'll certainly have something to say about everyone else's progress; I know I kept up to date with the first MyGame thread, in spite of not being very interested in the Dark Souls franchise.

Hrm... I'll give it some thought, but right now my opinion is that writing an article about MyGame and promoting it on the front page is a great idea.

Doing multiple MyGame games at once - even from the same franchise - feels to me a bit like having multiple stages at a music festival. It splits the audience, and at some point there are going to be two acts on at the same time that you want to see.

This is not a rule, though, and should depend on the game and franchise. I'm sure there are whole franchises out there that might be well-suited to be included as a whole in a MyGame one month.

Can't think of anything off the top of my head, but broadly: it won't be as story-heavy as the games we've played to-date, or the story will be the same across all the games in the franchise. The games are short, and the challenge is to play the whole franchise. Stuff like that.

I would encourage Jan to do a story on it to draw more people, the random people who popped into the stream found it very interesting and where interested in joining another game.

I also sat out the Dark Souls one since I am not a huge fan, I tried and just never got into as Beo for example. But then he never got into Borderlands the way I did and he still watched the stream :p

I will rather sit out a month (my budget doesnt allow for buying games I dont have - currently trying to save up to get the Deus Ex) But I will still read the threads and watch the streams. I find it fun to participate that way as well. This way I have now had interesting convos with people I only chat to here via TS, its great fun to get to know the other people! And how you all look after me due to the motion sickness :P

I think I'll try joining this round. My life is pretty erratic, but there has crept some semblance of normality back into it.

My votes:

1. Batman: Arkham City
2. XCOM: Enemy Unknown
3. Shadowrun Returns

...

Reminds of the one year at Woodstock in Heidelberg when they had Nia Nel performing on the one stage while Sarin Gas (now Seether) was performing on another. Nobody went to see poor Nia. She literally sang for her sound guy and at that point in time she was singing stuff that actually would have gone down well with that type of crowd.

How many own Magicka? That could be quite entertaining to play - 4 player co-op where team kills abound. What's also nice is that if one person has the DLC they can host and the others who don't have it can still join in.

If there's enough people keen on Magicka I'll gladly change my vote to put that first.
