[MyGame] Game 5 Voting

Sorry mister, I missed the line saying you changed your votes.

I went thru all the votes of everyone again now and updated the list, KoA back in the lead.

Awesome! Now let's just hope it stays that way. [emoji14]

We can all vote for AC again next round.

Maybe (like me) he isn't a fan of the Developer/Publishers business practices and votes with his wallet :)
But that's like cutting off your nose to spite your face. You could potentially miss out on some amazing experiences just because you don't like developer/publisher practices. Personally, I don't really care what they do, if the game is fun I will play it.

So will I...i just won't support their practices.

Not a fan of open world games? Pirates?

I found the first 3 AC games boring after a while. It was more or less always the same thing.

I don't like U-Play, but see my response to Jan.

There are so many other games you can't really miss out on fun games.

I can get behind a principled stance, but depending on your criteria you might disqualify all the major publishers. Ubisoft has done some dodgy stuff, but so has EA, Activision, Square Enix, and Microsoft.

Developers also often don't have control over publisher decisions such as pre-order incentives and day-0 DLC, so to not punish them all for earlier mistakes it might be better to make a game-by-game judgement call.

I skipped the first few Assassin's Creed games, so I missed all the grind. By the time I picked up Brotherhood the instalments had been refined quite a bit, and Black Flag turned out to be the Pirates! HD remaster I never thought I wanted.

I'm not an AC fan in the slightest but I loved Black Flag, it really is an awesome game. But not as awesome as KoA :D

Personally I've never seen the point to cut off an entire publisher because of bad practices on a few games. Granted the practices are not great, but if people don't buy the new games with the dodgy practices and keep buying older games without the shit of today doesn't that send a clearer message on their sales report vs a report that shows stable earnings?

People always say vote with your wallet, but EA and Ubisoft won't ever share sales information so to vote one publisher over another won't ever change anything. But if people really hate the current trend, isn't voting through games before the change more effective that voting for the lesser of 2 evils between to companies, I mean you are still supporting the rot.

Then I'm thinking saying that all publishers have released some amazing gems over the years. Crysis is a game with amazing reviews, coming from EA which is voted as the worst company every year. If you boycott EA, then you miss the gems, the games EA needs to support. Instead, the sales report shows Fifa and Madden as best sellers and the money flow there and away from crysis.

By all means vote for want to play, but don't vote to prevent publisher X from winning. Don't punish the child for the sins of the father. Also if people legitimately want to play game A then don't vote for B because you don't want the publisher A to win. Odds are you will play neither A or B and now fewer people overall will play the winning game because half the votes are for people who don't want A to win.

That's just my rant based on what i've seen.

Current state of things. People can add their votes or change their votes until 6pm tonight after which the winner will be announced. :)

Please let us know if you change your votes.

Really sad about AC4 not getting love. I've already downloaded it onto my Xbox and will be playing it regardless.

I will also play it later in December if all goes well.

I think I'll be doing the same. I'm keen to play Amalur but it's been a long time since I played an AC game and I was looking forward to getting stuck into Black Flag, especially since my PC is now beefy enough to run it in all its glory.

I recently upgraded a few pieces on my PC and I'll likely play through it also. I've looked at the reviews etc for KoA and it looks good, just not for me.
