Also played a bit last night. Got through the smugglers passage and found the blacksmith before calling it a night. Will carry on tonight or tomorrow night again.

I finally called it a evening morning after hitting level 40 and completing all the Act 3 content needed to unlock access to The Blood Grove. :D

It's shit like this that just goes straight over my head. All those numbers and crits and boosts and buffs and and and.... I get lost.

Maybe I'm in over my head.

hahaha dude, then you get me, who checks if the thing does more damage, if it does yay if not meh :P I cant do the maths

I mostly just go for the highest number item. +162 defense is better than a Legendary item with +100 defense and +100 health and +8% piercing

yeah.... basic principal as follows:
1. Does it look fly?!
2. Does it look dope?!
3. Is it's damage/protection higher than currently equipped?!
4. Equip it or toss it according to above rules.

Hi, my name is Greg and I am an ARPG virgin.

All my life I've avoided the genre because I'm intimidated by the weird words, the odd names, the "numbers and crits and boosts and buffs". And the ability to remember which goes best with what.

Just trying to get a feel for things before I launch into GD for the first time is confusing the bejebus out of me. Most of the folks here seem to let these words and plays and places and characters and builds and things roll off their tongues like it's a natural second language. I sit here rereading half of the posts because I didn't really get it the first time. And in many cases I still don't :)

I'm hoping to lose my virginity tonight. I hope Grim Dawn is gentle with me.

^5 yep that is me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh its shiny!*

*ooooooooooooooooooh it has sparks coming off it when i run around with it*

This is why I play normal not hardcore anything. I want to enjoy a game and hate mini maxing stuff and spreadsheets - if I wanna do that I could go back to wow and go raid again - I want to have fun exploring, swearing when I die and just have fun.

Here I am pouring out my noobish inadequacies and insecurities, and you want me to juggle something else at the same time?! :).

Lol. Actually that's a brilliant idea, thank you for the offer. I'll definitely get on if I get really stuck.

Haha theres an achievement called I Was Not Expecting You, Human. Where you need to Slay Warden Krieg on Veteran Mode before reaching level 11.

That's awesome. Will def be trying that at some point :)

Seems fitting...

Time to tackel that quest where you have to campaign for Stonetusk rights and more funds to be allocated to Cairn's vegetarian initiatives...

...no such quest. Stonetusk steaks with some Stonewart Troll's Ear soup. Recipe available upon request.

Got some time in to play a little this evening. Need to go to the wardens house, but I keep wanting to explore the map 100%.

I definitely see the parallels to Diablo 2. There is a greater need to kite, and watch your health more often. Also enemies can come from around a corner and surprise you, I have died more often than never, but it's fun. Also some bosses are relentless in their pursuit, it's scary!

Living on the edge!

Level 15 now and I made the mistake of playing on normal which is very very easy. Loving the game though. It feels very smooth and relaxing. I'm playing as a soldier. Decided to stay with a melee weapon plus a shield.

You should be able to change it to veteran in the main menu, regardless if you started the game or not.
