[MyGame] Psychonauts

Guys, I honestly have my doubts about finishing this game. It's just not grabbing or interesting to me. Plus I am rather hooked on Deus Ex and Cities Skyline at the moment, making it even harder for me to put in the hours. I'll keep on keeping on though. Try to get as far as possible

How many hours did it take you?
His Steam profile says 17.4 hours. Not sure how much of that was actual playing however. :)
hey, it was ALL play. I am quite proud of myself, managed to keep my OCD in check

Spoiler: show
I got all the brains EXCEPT Dogen's :(

Gforced, what resolution are you using? I'm playing the game at 1024x768 with black boxes on the sides. Even though I've got an HD monitor. As soon as I changed the resolution to HD the game didn't feel right. At 1024x768 it felt normal however.
I ran it at full desktop resolution, 1600x900. And my controller just worked, without the mod....

fun fact: The guy that does the voice for Razputin, also did the voice for Invader Zim.

AND if you shuffle around the letters in the name "Razputin"...... it does not spell Invader Zim. But it would have been pretty awesome if it did.

I think I made my game 1920x1080.

Yup that's what I am on. Thought what the hell, but Solitude I'll try dropping the res and see, tx for the suggestion. DieGrootHammer , are you too distracted by the new and shiny? :)

As much as I like the game, I doubt I will finish this. I am getting way to motion sick with all that is happening on the screen. I remember know why I gave up early last time.

At least it not just me. :D I've had 2 play sessions which ended with me having to take anti-nausea medication and I don't like to take the stuff cause the side affects are muscle twitches and anxiety.
Strangely fitting for the mood and style of this game.
Must try motion sick pills as a preventative rather, but I don't think it worth all that effort.

I am going to try some more tweaks as suggested by Solitude before giving up, was looking for some info on tweaking the .ini file but there just not a lot of info out there despite this game cult like following.

In googling motion sickness for psychonauts (so that I may become a complete expert in the matter after 2/3 forum browsing and dole out my 100% knowledge on you plebs that suffer from nausea playing this game) I discovered that theres a psychonauts wiki

....not what I was expecting hey...

I have tried the basic stuff so far, my problem is more a case of the disorientation that happens as I play, my eyes and brain cannot deal with it.

Wow Real life psychonauts? Maybe Wyvern and I are actually potential psychonuats.
the psychedelic pictures and whatever it is that webpage is talking about already make me feel off but I think I am actually sick at the moment

it that in the camp or in the pychonauntical world - what do they call it in the game when you go in to someone head?

FOV is normally a trigger for me, but I didn't think 3rd person would matter. maybe that's why solitude feels the resolution is off.
Maybe I'll try it on the tv with a bit of distance between me and the screen.

When running in the camp I can "survive" longer as long as I dont do something too complex. But I tend to violent headaches after a session in the game. The moment I go into someones world I get worse and feel ill almost within 2 or 3 mins. But even sitting on my bed away from the sceen didnt work for me, so its very frustrating that I cant play it. I even had an issue in Fez :(

I am also going to try Sweet FX for Psyconauts it looks like it gives a crisper look it may hell.

I will try that tonight or tomorrow. My problem is I still feel ill today :(

This game literally gets inside your head while you getting inside other peoples heads... so meta.
since we consume media ocularly and can be affected by a digital media in a similar manner as one can be affected by food poisoning does that mean you got a computer bug? Are we suffering game poisoning? Like poorly cooked food we just cannot digest Pyschonauts?

PS hope all you guys who are enjoying the game are not getting annoyed with all this other talk, since it doesn't really seem to affect most of you others.

I'm glad I only really get motion sickness from bad driving.

Is it a specific type of game that triggers it?

I don't normally suffer the first game that did it to me was HL2 way back in the day and I just powered through it.
Then with Borderlands I found if I increased the FOV to 100+ and disabled any weapon bob then I was fine.

I suspect with Pyschonauts it has something to do with camera view, I'll fiddle with it later.
Also I got motion sick in the back seat of a car the other day, something that never bugged before, a car I had not rode in before, so maybe I am just broken nowadays.

I wear glasses , I had my check up not to long ago too, so its not that.

For me its basically all FPS games, I can't explain it, and it comes and goes, some games, like borderlands I am ok with, but battlefield and the rest is impossible, portal and HL and fair few others.
