MyGaming Awards 2014: Game of the Year nominations

Another spanner in the works are the Xbox One games that only launched here in SA in 2014, yet were available since last year. I am thinking in particular about Forza Motorsport 5 and Dead Rising 3. Both games only launched in SA in 2014, and can be argued that they should be considered for the title of SA Game of the Year. Just a thought...

Ok, I thought you could just have the option to pick 3 games instead of one. Numbers would do the rest
 
Is it just me, or was it a fairly bland year in gaming?

The ones I've enjoyed most from that list was Shadow of Mordor and Reaper of Souls (although it's an expansion).

I've yet to play Alien Isolation and Far Cry 4 though.

Yeah we're kicking the idea around at the office. So your first place pick would get 10 points, your second place pick 4, and your third place pick 1 point.

Then the system tallies the points at the end to see which game is the winner.

Not sure if our software can do it, but we're definitely thinking about it. Scared it might make people less inclined to complete the survey, though.

Picking one game is easy-ish. Having to choose your top 3 requires a bit more thinking.

Maybe but last time I spent for ever deciding who to vote for because one was the obvious choice but I still wanted to mention b because I figured everyone would vote a and b would come in last place. Thus if I had another vote I would have felt comfortable with my final answer.
 
I have only played one 2014 game, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and I'm doubtful I've played nearly enough to constitute a nomination, but, thus far it will get my GotY nomination. I say this because I'm certain that many will agree with this decision (subjectively speaking, of course).

I will nominate The Crew once I own it, and have played a fair amount of hours of it; hope the nominations are still open at that given time (much later in the month).
 
Want to vote Divinity: Origin Sin, but still need to play Wasteland 2, that looks to be a strong contender.

When does the voting start?
 
A quick heads-up: nominations will close early on Monday morning. How early? Rather make sure all your nominations are in by tonight, that's how early (around 07:30).

We'll post a survey and open voting early in the coming week (probably Monday).
