Mygaming Forum Community Games Awards 2013

A common thing I found among many forum members, is that there weren't a lot of them playing 2013 games last year. A few members even said (at least in the TK), they only played 1 or 2 2013 games, some none at all.
Yeah, I think I voted for Battlefield for FPS only.... so it makes sense.

Great work Dee!! Some interesting stats from the polls. But overall glad about the winners

Thanks :)

Considering the amount of active forum members, I'm quite happy with the level of participation of the forum members in regards to the whole process, including nominations and elections.

Well done bra Dee. Although I almost wish we had your baritone to go along with this exemplary writing :)

That is because of our backlogs....

I mean come on, I am playing Gothic 3 and Dirt 3 right now :D

I can totally relate though. I never finished any of the 2013 games in my library, I would have, but... Dota 2 happened .

DmC, Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite, etc. I have them and I've barely made any progress on them, hell, I'm still trying to complete Far Cry 3 :D

The problem with 2013 was the sheer amount of MP content available to us; made it difficult to engage in SP when MP was an easy way to have some fun.

Spot on. The focus on MP gaming seems to be growing at a rate that makes it hard to get into SP gaming.

Scenario: You're logged into Origin or Steam. You boot up an SP game, you play for a bit and are having a good time. All of a sudden, "Friend A is now playing MP game X, click to join game," says a Steam popup. A few minutes later, "Friend B is now playing MP game Y," says an Origin popup.

Eventually you tell yourself you can play the SP game later, it's not going away, you'll get back to it, but the potential good time you could be having with your gaming buddies may not be available. This eventually becomes a cycle.

I believe platforms like Steam and Origin have made it so easy to get into multiplayer gaming which equally reduces the chances of us getting fully immersed in singleplayer games (haven't really seen how the console social gaming platforms are as of yet).

I can ignore "Friend A enters Game X" easily... the real problem is when friend C, D and E also enters Game X. That is when you know you are missing something.

Same happened to me with Bad Company 2. Which I enjoyed way more than BF3 or BF4

Don't lie, origin hasn't made it easy. Remember how many problems we had just trying to play NFS:HP?

You have any idea how hard life is with the advent of Dota ? Just try play a SP game without Signing off of Steam and see what happens :(. Hell Hombres are even resorting to texting and calling to get you to come play Dota with them :(

I never got into DotA2 with you guys. And I'm the one that gave Dee his key.

Origin was really sketchy with the MP games no doubt, but it still gets to me when it tells me someone is playing BF4 or ME3 (if SP, I will tell them we should do some co op). Many of the EA multiplayer games along with their origin integration need some work

It's gotten to the point where you'll hear that Steam notification sound and you'll know what time it is :D
