MyGaming staff hate the MyGaming forums

Why do you think MyGaming staff don't post on the forums more often?

I don't post very often as I don't actually work for MyGaming: I moderate the forum and write reviews and articles as a freelancer.

I do visit every day though to follow up on the reported posts, and I weigh in on a few discussions in between my full-time job. I also make sure to pop in to occasionally to remind syco that he is a chop.

And you see everything!!!! :p

My sentiments exactly (though I did not vote). I also feel that the community is a rather active one, 'manages' itself and keeps the momentum going — which is a good thing! :)

Especially when there is a competition...

Pity the poll isn't multiple choice. If it had been, I'd say they're too busy (option not available in the poll), they are scared of us, and they don't like us -- because we scare them. But really, it's probably because they're too busy. Dan confirmed this.

Admins also tend to maintain a sort of distance in order to remain unbiased. They can't afford to show favoritism and possibly end up taking sides in a dispute, or losing it and banning somebody for something petty. I've seen it on pretty much every forum I've ever joined. I think of it as sort of like refereeing. Yes, I know, probably not the best example seeing as a lot of referees are corrupt nowadays.

it's a tough job, but somebody has to do it :D

Hey, I'm on here all the time! So is Jeremy, but you guys should probably harass him to be more active.

Quinton is a BusinessTech journalist and occasionally does some writing for us if he's in the mood. He does some editing and forum linking when I'm too busy. He also works on the weekend when it's his turn. Cant speak for why he doesn't lurk on the forum though; he's pretty busy in general, both in terms of work and social life, so it's probably just a free-time problem.

Jan writes for MyBroadband and lurks on that forum for the most part, but like Quinton he contributes to MyGaming when he feels like it, or wants to weigh in on a discussion.
