Or a thread in General Gaming about how horror games can really be scarier if they put you in real world situations but add a weird twist to it. Or a thread in the MMO section about how they should just stop Star Trek Online already and create a new better Start Trek MMO where you can go explore and discover.

You're not allowed to use my logic!

I hate people who start threads / post things (when theres a counter like 20 minimum posts to join) just for the sake of posting.

Sure, if you're established and accepted already, then you can post around and chat etc. But posting just to increase post count is damn lame (reply and agree wholeheartedly to me and you'll add a post to your total!!!)

EDIT:And yes I think the mybroadband "most active member" competitions are only compounding that stuff. You're encouraging spam and useless sh!t, stop it. If you wanna reward the active users, do so on the side, and at random. THAT way you'll actually be rewarding people that CONTRIBUTE to the community and not just reply crap into every thread they see so they can get into the top 25.

I totally agree with you. I will not post nonsense just to get into the group. Quantity over quality does not make a forum better, it just makes it less informative and entertaining.

this game is BRILLIANT! one of Rockstar's best. i enjoyed it more than GTA 4 :)

Totally agree with this. I know I won some of the comps but making it so that the person with the most spam posts win excludes all the other people that actually contribute solid posts and threads to the forum.

They must really rethink the whole comp thing and make it more like a sweepstakes like this: (scroll down to the Tropico comp) https://www.indiegala.com/giveaways

This will give everyone an equal chance... Unless you make a comp based on skill like writing the best article or drawing the most awesome stick man thingy. :)

I really don't like the new MyGaming comp method. It has probably resulted in my contributing less on the forum because I simply no longer stand a chance to win stuff.
