I played the opening bits of the game at a friend's house way back in the day and it was awesomeness. :-)

dampi - if you want to get the best mods for skyrim go to nexusmods.com - dont use steamworks - its terrible! they also have loads of mods for other games too. also be careful of which online guide to 'best mods for skyrim' you use, some of those mods listed are not always compatible with each other, and most require other mods & their dependants to run.

the only mod i will recommend to get as an absolute must is SKYUI. This mod changes the default menu system of Skyrim which is clunky, slow and disorganised. SKYUI fixes all of the issues in the menu and provides modification controls for loads of mods that are integrated with it.

Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) is required for SKUI, and is used for almost every mod out there. a note - dont try to get SKSE from any other site but the developers own site (in link i gave). they are not reliable.

the other item to install is Nexus Mod Manager - this is NexusMods.com's own creation and installs the mods for you - without it things will get messy and majority of mods require it anyways.

install order:
1. SKSE
2. Nexus mod manager (NMM)
3. SKYUI

everything else is for fun or cosmetics. i'm not much into grand graphics etc, even though my rig can handle it without skipping a beat. i make use of mods that fixes or enhances the world around you. like merchants that never restock or replenish their gold. anyways - good luck to you and everyone else :)

Rather off topic but I'll add to it. Once you have NMM (and SKYUI of course) installed, if you going to put any respectable amount of mods in the game then you'll want LOOT (Load Order Optimization Tool). Will help with stability and minimize crashes on startup as a result of conflicting mod load orders :)

Awesome. Thanks. I am super excited and more interested in creating my own story quests and voice overs. :)
