Just after that I got a CD Key check by account in my email from Steam and the game disappears. Got nothing from Valve as to why this happens but I have a feeling someone was complaining that his game key did not work.

So yeah, not willing to chance it anymore, esp if none bundle game gifts come up. Will still join developer ones but if a rare jewel shows with no click here to promote x, make that a no thanx.

I heard of these keys floating around. Key generators used to create fake keys. That sucks because there is absolutely no benefit for the person generating the key and giving it away as the winner won't confirm that the gift was valid. Not cool at all. I am also weary of public ones.
 
Since steamgifts is linked to your steam account, and he chatted to you in steam chat (thus creating logs) it shouldnt be too difficult to just get his ass banned (possibly IP banned even, if they find it serious enough). I hope you at least reported it in SOME fashion, otherwise you're basically condoning it by shrugging it off :/

Did just that after the chat guess that is why the game just vanished also why my account is still active.
 
I'm going through various bundles purchased and was wondering about this: If I have a steam key, is there a way to add that game to my inventory instead of activating it in my library?

unfortunately not that I know of. I've tried to do the same in the past :(
