MyGaming Steam Community Giveaways

I'm thinking of updating the rules for removing people that are not actively participating in the forums in any way. I see there are some people who make one or two posts a week, and sometimes only post in this thread, yet they're still frequently entering (and winning) giveaways. I would like to know everyone's thoughts.

I think this should only be open to people who actively participate on the forum and also contribute games on occasion. This was the vision from the start.

I agree, it's time to prune. This is a group for the MyGaming COMMUNITY so to qualify you really need to be contributing to the forum in a meaningful way. I mean, this group was created to avoid the leeches, let's not land up in a situation where we need to create another group so that giveaways actually go to people who contribute.

Unfortunately no-one ever reported anyone, as I asked in the original post. I can think of at least 2 people that I think should go, though.

Agreed with all of you, and as Eugene says we never had people asking us to remove people from the group that they noticed are not active but still winning and only participating in these.

This is fair enough. But perhaps a warning would be helpful to those responsible.

I must admit I haven't done too many giveaways for a while so I haven't paid much attention to who's winning without actually contributing to the forum. There is one person though, now that I'm thinking about it, who I haven't seen for a fair while, not since they won a bunch of games and redistributed them. Fortunately they didn't do so with my giveaway otherwise "Hell hath no fury..."

Yeah, he hasn't been active in a while, I think he'll be the first to go.

Well, I normally don't check who has been active either so can't say who is allowed to go or not. I normally just mail of my prizes. What I would say, is start with people that did not post outside of here for a month +.

As for not giving, would be best to lay ground rules before kicking people for that ie: "4 months no gift = no get" or something like that.

I'm one of those guilty-conscience people that now wonder if I'm not contributing enough and am 1 of the unmentionables :(

But as I said when I (painfully slowly) joined Mygaming and got more than 20 posts, I don't see the point in spamming threads (like the way the Mygaming competition promotes), but actually contributing meaningfully or not at all. Of course, I do sometimes talk BS on this thread, but still..I would agree that a warning to those under close scrutiny would be fairest way to go, as well as modifying the rules for GIVING away games, as I dont recall needing to be giving away a minimum number of games in X months was a prerequisite.

Maybe thats just me. Maybe im an idiot and a tool.

My giveaway is almost done :D

After these 3 are gone, how many will I be able to have at any given time? There seems to be a limit of 3 at the moment.
