MyGaming suggestion box

Aw gee, I cannot do polls, so it may be a good idea to have a multichoice poll to find out what hardware is used by the members.

:D and another one on whether ernstn should be allowed to create polls /:D

Hey that gaming poll is actually a pretty good idea...:)

one question; why do i have to log into the site and then again for the forum... or is it just me ?

one question; why do i have to log into the site and then again for the forum... or is it just me ?

The site & forum each has its own account.

I just click on forum once i'm on the site and it remembers me. No need to log in at all.

Apart from that, it's probably just you :p

I'd rather that we have adult language allowed at first. If it turns out to be abused too much, then remove it. But we're all adults here, no?

Not all of us are adults or atleast I dont act like one hehehehehehehehe....

hey pp listen seeing as this is a suggestion box... i have a suggestion that maybe we could host like a live audio stream where users post up music and you can listen to it from the site and it would help to prevent piracy as it stays within the site and not available to DL... how does that sound and it would attract more people :D

I posted a response to an Article written on the PC section about Warhammer.

Any reason why it's shows my real name and not my alias ?

How about designing it to use the whole page and not just a strip in the middle?...sorry if that sounded noob, never designed a website so I dunno if thats a matter of designing it like it or if its a result from having a widescreen? Everything just feels very cramped atm...

How a classifieds section or even maybe 3 or 4 sticky threads where we can sell used / unwanted games /gaming gear?

I think we might want to make a minimum post requirement before people are permitted to sell stuff (just to protect the buyers from dodgy stuff) and also make sure it in genuine stuff. Any copied / pirated stuff gets reported and lister gets banned or something.

Was thinking either we have a subsection for it or, sticky posts by hardware platform. That way no people selling there ps3 crap ;) (jk'ing) in the pc section. What ever is the easiest way to do it.

Also would be nice to keep the threads tidy with no crap posting, may have the post deleted /archived after the product is sold or something.

Seller feed back /rating would be nice too, but that is probably a lot of work.

A few suggestions...

I don't think allowing swearing is such a great idea especially with google searches where your site will pop up when someone searches certain words lol:)

An attractive feature on any games site forum is a marketplace for new and used games that users can swap or sell games to the other members, divide it into sub-sections for different gaming systems (pc, playstation, xbox, wii), remember to have an iTrader system in place, or a safe buyers sticky thread where we give references to users for good/neutral/poor sales to protect the members.

Another idea is to seperate the console section into xbox 360, ps3, and wii sub-sections it helps users to look for what we're interested in, instead of checking if the topic relates to what we're interested in/need to know.

Oh and lets not forget a thank you button where a member can thank other members for their useful posts instead of posting a thank you, thus increasing their post counts

I just posted this in the TK and thought it probably belongs in here more -

"With all these new members flooding in for the comps, methinks we should raise the minimum posts count a wee bit higher than 15 no?"

Solitude suggested we raise it by 5 for every new comp but I'm of the opinion that we raise it by at least 10 for every new comp, if not 15 each time. Just my 2c, use it, don't use it :D

On one hand I agree Mephisto Helix

Although, we dont want to discourage new people from joining.

It will also just promote spamming. But we probably will increase it to 20/25 in the next comp

Aye, it's a tough one .... on the one hand you want to promote the site but on the other, you don't want people registering just for the comps. I want the site to grow through more interaction with more and more members is all.

Rating System - User "transactions"

Hi hi

Just a thought, but can we maybe put a rating system on the people in the sense of buyers and sellers?

Like lets say I am buying something from someone, then he can in put a 1 to 5 star rating on me where 1 would be the least reliable payer and 5 be the most reliable.

Then the buyer could also flag the seller about the quality of the goods etc.

That way you can build in some "measurement" system of buyers and sellers on here.
