Is there any way to override the website defaulting to the mobile view when using Opera on my cellphone? As much as I understand the reasoning behind it, I prefer the original view.

can we please exclude the signature picture form the post's picture count. cause i can't
add 4 pictures in my post with the picture in my signature.

Who is this exactly that started up this section??

sorry I'm just a little confused as to who this person is that popped outta nowhere and was able to start a new section...

That is Hein, he is the new shop manager. Shop is undergoing maintenance today, so I've asked him to get started on this new section which will essentially be a resource for article linking. That forum should be hidden though, can you still see it?

What Raven said :)

I was reading through it and ja I just thought it was some spammer or one of you mods playing around and stuff :p

I strongly suggest that you integrate the forum authentication onto your main site for posting comments on News articles. It is far to easy for people to post under false names with zero accountability, and I have seen it all to often. It would go a long way to cleaning up the comments section because some of the comments I read go so far off track to the point that people are insulting each other, and honestly, who wants to read that? I am all for freedom of expression but really, comments are there purely to comment and discuss the article. I am almost at a point where I don't enjoy reading the comments, and I think that has to change.

You will have more comments on articles by doing this, and you can also remove the forum link in your articles to promote it. It makes sense, if I read an article I then read the comments, and I can post my reply. Then I have a forum link where a totally different discussion may be taking place. Shouldn't there be more continuity? I think so.

I think it's actually been discussed in the past (I vaguely remember something like that) - but integrating the forum and news section is either impossible/too difficult/not worth it - I can't remember the exact reason.

But I do think they could look into implementing a similar system to what News24 has in place. Although I notice it hasn't really cleared up the comments a lot either.

tinman did say they where going to put in a system where you have to register, that was a while ago, don't know whats become of it

I promise, people will still post the usual garbage they do, irrespective of registration or not. It would simply be a waste of time and effort. All that will happen is people will create smurf accounts.

if i may ask how "appropriate" is it these days to have a centred look of a page. talking specially about the div's with for the middle block. would it be a sin to have it 100% instead of the add 900px something it is ? just curious :)

well a cursory glance at international gaming site proves your wrong.... I read Kotaku, Joystick, gamespot every day (which all require registration) and none of them have the level of scum that comment on myG....

Go have a look at News24. South African site. Now it may not be gaming related, but it probably gives a sad, yet realistic view on local posters. Yes, that is a generalisation, but I'm not sure using international sites as a reference is accurate. If I'm proven wrong, so much the better, if not, well tis the pity.

Getting sick of the imposters. Can't you just disable comments if you're unwilling to force some kind of registration? What's the point of discussing the same article in two places at once anyway?

Seriously getting tired of it now.

Why not just incorporate the same thing they do on MyBB? The comments on the article are the same as those in thread...

So you don't write all those things?

Depends on "all those things." I don't even know how many posts of his I'm unaware of.

It's easy to tell the difference (at least from my perspective). He Americanises words (civilization instead of civilisation) or misuses apostrophes. He also (I suppose deliberately) misrepresents my stance on certain topics.

He's just a troll and while I find the attention flattering--imitation being the sincerest form of flattery and all that--the fact that I've had odd folk getting the wrong impression of me bugs me. I'd expect people to know better but it seems that they don't.

I've decided I'll no longer utilise the comments section of articles so if you see any posts there by "Lycanthrope" you can be absolutely certain it's not me.

No, apparently. Been wondering if we can't perhaps have a "wide" look too instead of forced 900px body....
