NAG magazine

I buy the NAG or PC Format now and again mainly for the DVD. This depends if there is a demo or videos that I am interested in. I find that the disc contents on PC Format and NAG is usually the same. Also enjoy reading about new harware, gadgets etc.

I don't see the point of paying for something you can get for free and better on the internet. I guess if you don't have uncapped the disc might be all right but it still seems like a flimsy excuse. Only mags I've every considered getting a subscription for were New Scientist, Popular Mechanics (the US version) and maybe Scientific American.

That pretty much accounts for 90% of magazines, though. Very few publish content that isn't available online.
Well that's true to a degree, it's really about how easy it is to round up all this info and how well curated it is. You can get more or less all of NAG's content from just about any big gaming site but it's a lot harder to source the content from something like New Scientist or Popular Mechanics.

Lees lekker op die toilet saam met my PCF (wat ek nie like want dis te veel van n ripoff van die Ingelse se PCF)

Enigste plek waar n man in rus en vrede kan verkeer sonder dat die kinders en vrou mens rondjaag...

You telling me and I have not even checked out the CD and from what I have read that's the best part, oh wait I need a pc to check it out LOL, but that issue should be sorted out very soon :)

Oh I miss the old DVDs, they had menus and where packed with demos, trailers, flash stuff, wallpapers, anime trailers, and other stuff. And sometimes there was some hidden content on the DVD, not any more :(

i stopped buying the nag aswell, the quality just went sideways so much it felt like a total waste of cash

I used to buy NAG every month and I enjoy the magazine. These days I buy it once every couple of months. There's something awesome reading a magazine and feeling the paper in your hands but then I tend to get all the gaming news I want straight from the interwebs.

Lol I stopped buying NAG when they stopped going for the more eccentric and exotic sections like anime and the few random flash videos they had. Not to mention the deterioration of their writing quality. Nowadays I just indulge myself in a PCF just for the reading pleasure. Nowadays I just read online reviews and occasionally listen to the ramblings of Yahtzee Croshaw for the lulz to get a random and extreme view on a game :p

Yeah, I used also used to buy NAG when I was doing a lot of PC gaming and into the latest upgrades available. But since I moved onto console gaming, I buy maybe the E3 issue some years. I prefer the internet gaming news now.

Stopped buying it a few years ago, but have huge respect to those that have and those that do work at NAG, adding that extra bit into the gaming community here in SA. But hell what do I know.

There was a stage in my life that I bought the mag. Mostly before I had a job, I think. Seeing that you get news once a month in the mag, the internet kind of made it redundant. I like the mag and all, I just don't find the use for it anymore.

If I don't use it, I can't justify spending money on it.

I love NAG, they review things honestly. I enjoy the game dev interviews on the DVD's too. Also theres nothing like taking a fresh NAG to the toilet.... what? its the one place to read in peace without anybody bothering you! haha

I used to buy NAG. Then I got ADSL and realised I can read everything I want to know about games online at www.ign.com and well mygaming. Now I have R45 extra a month. W00T! Thats an extra King Steer Burger and chips! NOM NOM NOM!

I haven't really been buying the NAG lately but I'll have to admit that I think it's one of the best gaming mags out there in SA, if I had the money to afford to buy one every month amongst other things I would definitely not pass up the opportunity...

Jussssssssssssssssssuss man my brother has 2 big boxes filled with NAG magazines.

Used to be my favourite thing.

Then I found the internet.

Now I'm like.... NAG? Peh.... yeah right..

I use to buy NAG to but because it used to be cheaper than PC format and you got a lot of content on the disc, then I bought both... Also i never had internet at the time as soon as i got internet i stopped buying them... Now i have my gaming, my broadband, ign, fudzilla, MSN, and a few others to keep me upto date and the Sunday times for world affairs.

But when i bought NAG it was a great magazine, got me hooked... to gaming and pcs and things. So enjoy it while it lasts.

I buy NAG every month but recently they've become too opinionated. There's also an inordinate amount of toilet humour which just makes the publication look amateurish.

Also its difficult find an Azimuth column that isn't taking a swipe at PC gamers.
