Don't know if it is just me, but i stumbled on this the other day just randomly browsing:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/4920/

I did some looking and there hasn't been much mentioned about the game and don't know if it is just me, but this game is awesome. Like a combination of starcraft and counter-strike.

Makes me wonder if we are going to have local servers and if it will actually be played...

What you guys think?

Played the first one to death but the community for the game really is not big and trying to play vs internationals the ping just messed you up.
Would love to get it but there is just not so many players who play it.

Sadly your words ring true. Mostly only played this at OC LAN and I have my hopes up that the online presence of this one will be better since it has been a couple of years since the original.

WOW looks great!

I'm sure it will be higher this time around, allot of south african's have gotten access to the interwebz

Bought this during the sale. It's really nice. Pity the local servers seem to be dead.

There is a few players only problem is the guys who have been playing this game for a while and the first one spoils it for someone that is new to the series then end up not wanting to play anymore since there is no change to learn the game mechanics.

The only problem with these types of games are the new guys never get a chance to play as a commander. ( Which imo is the best way to play the game) take savageXR for instance. Few people know about it. Its exactly the same except its humans vs beasts. AND they show your stats. So if you're new your stats show 0 wins and 0 losses. The only way to become a commander is by voting. And they won't vote for a noob.

The Commander seat is open but its overwhelming thus while your still trying to figure out what to do the more exp player on the other side then takes command research aliens/humans and you get overrun before you have research anything.

The Tut vids help but its nothing like having to do it yourself.

I have played savage its almost the same but yet again the person who has played it for 2+- years don't give new players time they just want you to do stuff right there and then. And in the end far less new players want to keep playing since they find it unfair because they don't understand how to play yet in this type of game.
