Naughty Dog dev reckons they're “one of the leaders” in game story-telling

you made a good point about graphics. the graphics of games like the legend of zelda: ocarina of time or final fantasy vii were 'amazing' to us when they were released. and a game like riven which was released in 1997 still has incredible-looking graphics in my opinion. games from the past with 2D or pre-rendered backgrounds have aged the best, while polygon-only games like tomb raider 1 on ps1 have aged the worst.

I actually think that Heavy Rain's devs are better at ingame story telling than naughty dog. Sure UC1 & 2 had good plots but it was let down by poor design choices. That doesn't make them bad games, it just means that no matter how good your plot is if it has some bad choices in it won't be recognized. Same reason Heavy Rain didn't get the same acclaim as titles like Uncharted.

In order of appearance i would say

1. BIOWARE
2. BUNGIE
3. INFINITY WARD (Post lawsuits)
4. IRRATIONAL GAMES

some other Devs and only then i would say Naughty Dog

BS!

I would say:

1- BioWare
2- Naughty Dog
3- Infinity Ward
4- Bungie
5- (Guys that make Heavy Rain, forgot their name)

Infinity Ward leaders of story-telling? Interesting ...

Anyway, I'm not gonna put them in any order but my favourite studios for story driven games are: CDProjekt RED, Quantic Dream, Naughty Dog, Bioware and Obsidian Entertainment (disregarding the bugs, of course).

Nelson de Mille, Matthew Reilly, David Baldacci, Jeffrey Archer, Clive Cussler and so many more! :p

LOL. Others include Richard Morgan, Michael Robotham, J.R.R Tolkien and Robert Jordan to name a few more. These are the true leaders in story-telling. :p
