Have anyone compared these two yet?

I haven't tried test drive, but I did enjoy NFS Shift 1...

Shift 2 doesn't feel as good as 1...

Awesome... Is it also a realistic drive simulator?

I hate the other need for speed game like hot pusuit and underground!!!

I'm looking for something like Gran Turismo or Forza on pc... So far Shift is the best one I've tried...

I just installed World... Will give it a go later, but it looks like a arcade type game like underground. Mabey it will be more fun online???:wtf:

It is online and way more fun when you are playing against people on the internet than actually the computer drivers, since people are more unpredictable.

You start with buying a tier 1 starter car and $35000 dollars. You can put vinyls and paint your car and upgrade engines, brakes etc.

Each race gives you Experience, Money and a Random card which gives several items.

Powerboosts which gives speed boosts, traffic magnets, ramming cars in police chases etc.
Random cards also gives upgrades for your car and money.

When you come first you get a gold card, second is silver, third is bronze and blue is 4th - 8th. The gold card has better rewards.

You start at level 1 and more you level the more talent points, tracks and cars you unlock. The talent points give you special abilities you can use to do certain things to boost your performance in the races.

Test drive is a lot better, but it gets boring

I have to disagree with you on that one. I bought TDU2 on release date and played for a quite a while before eventually giving up because of the shit handling, shit "sims" gameplay and broken online play. I bought Shift 2 on Tuesday and I can't stop playing it. The handling also takes some getting used to (you have to tune your cars to get it the way you want it), but once you're used to it the game is tremendous fun. I usually only play racing games in-between other games, but with Shift 2 I barely play any other game - I just want to keep on playing Shift 2. I hate simulators like Forza and GT, but Shift 2 is the perfect balance of sim and arcade for me.

Grid still owns.
NFS and TDU2 aren't meant to be proper racing sims.
I do Enjoy TDU2 alot though, Haven't bothered getting NFS shift 2.

Shift 2 if you want a really visceral driving experience. The helmet cam that looks into the corners as you approach them is fantastic. Driving at night with the 2011 Mclaren MP4-12C is a thrilling experience. :D

I also noticed with shift 2, the handling on straits is impossible. They released a patch with kind of fixed it... I think that's why i liked shift 1 more.

Is the gameplay of testdrive the same as gt and forza, or does it have a storyline type progression like shift?

I'll definately try that... I've got a steering wheel as well, so it will probably add to the experience!

I had the same issue with shift 2. I had such high hope for the game. Test drive is sort of a GTA with the emphasis on driving. You can buy homes. You actually have to go to a dealer to buy a car. So if you want a Merc, you'll go to a Merc dealer. You'll be able to look at every detail of the car.

Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the gameplay. It's a mix of arcade and sim. Graphics are not that mind blowing either...

if you like driving and dont want to muck about NFS is the better option. got bored with TD driving around from location to location...

Enjoyed Shift 2 a lot. TDU2 got boring real fast. Very good concept but was missing that something to keep you coming back.

I have no problem on the straights, you just need to ease you car to the line you want to take.

I recently installed the driver of my steering wheel... Biggest mistake I ever made!!!

The car keeps steering to the left and there is no way I can calibrate it... It worked perfectly without the driver...

How crap is that!!!
