Need For Speed will get new installment in 2017

It seems Ghost Games have been working on a new installment of Need For Speed, and has confirmed in a recent article that the new installment of NFS will be coming out in 2017. Now, there aren't a lot of details in the post, but what can be taken from the post is the following:

- Customization will be back in the game and apparently play a "strong role" in the game
- There will be cops to get away from
- The map will be open world and bigger than their previous games
- Always online is gone, as well as the irritating fact that the game doesn't pause when you open a menu.

So, more info will be revealed with what can be assumed a gameplay trailer at E3 in June
 
Am I a weirdo for being a fan of both NFS Most Wanted (the real one, not the impostor) and NFS Shift, too completely different styles?

Not a chance. I too liked Most Wanted and Shift. They both had interesting concepts and were different enough to not feel like just the normal iterative release. Unfortunately after that there wasn't anything new added to the franchise since, and I'm also cautious that the new version doesn't look like anything new or fresh. Perhaps its more of a true to form NFS that we'll get later in the year.
 
Yeah Most Wanted was fresh in that it was more open-world than the undergrounds, modding the car wasn't forced (you had star ratings and crap...blegh) and they NAILED the arcade-style and fluidness.
Shift I liked because they were bold enough to try something new with the gritty realism, something before-unknown in an NFS title and I think they did it quite well.

But yea, not really holding my breath for this one until I see gameplay (and even then I won't trust E3 "gameplay" either).
 
NFS is dead to me after Rivals.

Hot Pursuit and Shift are two of my favorites though.

Im a fan have them all some still in those old big thick silver cases ea released their games in. I liked the last one but car space wasnt enough and the pc didnt get all the dlc that the consoles got and the fact taht the snapshot on mine is still not working worked on my nerves.

There are a few things ill improve on the next version like customizing some cars just didnt have enough add ons like the 2017 gtr the livery editor was nice though and i made some nice "skins" myself. Also drag shouldnjust be that drag not twists and turns and some good drifting tracks would be nice. Not a mountains drifting fan you cant really express yourself with limited space :p
 
Always loved the NFS games. Yes there were some bad ones in there but he ones I liked are:
NFS Underground 1
NFS Underground 2
NFS Most Wanted
NFS Carbon
NFS Undercover

Now I just need a better PC to play the newest one, and then lets hope this one is good as well.
