I am looking to get a wireless gaming headset. I have a few options in mind but am finding it hard to choose.
Any Advice would be greatly appreciated, however I do have requirements.
  • Has to be wireless
  • Preferable 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound
  • Has to work with both Xbox and PS3 (Sound and Voice Chat)
Here are the options thus far:

i wouldnt go for PC headsets. They cost too much for the price and the quality. I know a friend who runs a sound recording studio and he bought proper studio headset for like R400 -R500 and they are 10x bettern than any gaming headset ive ever heard.

Im not sure on the model ,will have to find out but i know they were AKG's

They aren't PC headsets, they are gaming headsets. These studio headsets you speak off probably wont support voice chat on either platform which would put them out of the race completely. But im willing to have a look if u can send me a link.

There is another unit that can be added to the list, I just need to get the name from a buddy then I'll post the links for ya Omega.

From the list so far, I would lean towards Logitech purely for the compatibility issue. Sure surround isn't the be all, but if you can get a unit that does it all, well who doesn't like spoiling themselves ? :P

Just wish I could find that one. Why dont Logitech do a surround sound one?

I don't think that they have considered it really. Most of their products are brilliant but for some reason the surround headset is still a taboo item for them :(

There is THIS but i looks wired to me.

EDIT: They are wired and the one review mentions "alot of cables" and tedious set up
