Was hoping someone could help me with this problem I have:

I got an android PC tablet and want to use my home internet with it. I managed to setup the WiFi connection between my router and tablet, but is unable to connect to the internet.

When I use the internet on my PC i usually need to enter a user name and password, i don't know if this is the problem?

Sounds like you are using PPPoE (in short, password and username stored on your PC), you will need to rather store your username and password on your router. This will allow any device that is connected to it to browse the web. There may be another way to accomplish connecting your phone to the internet over the router, but not that I am aware of.

How you do so depends on your router make and model. Looking in the manual should be a start if you have it. Otherwise google will help.

Its also called PPPoEE on the Router it self, there should be a place on the router that you can enter the username and password you are using on the PC to access the internet. (Normally under the Internet settings)

What Router do you have?

I think he is using bridge connection.

So he dials in via his router.

You need to set this up on your router.

Some netgears wont display the router page but seeing as you got onto the router page to edit the WIFI that shouldnt be a problem.

best would be to reset the router.

go to the startup or basic settings.

it will ask for a username and pass.

add your isp detils set up the wifi and voila

remember to change the ROUTER NOT THE ISP password aswell :D

thanks for the help. finally got it working. we had a previous user name and password that was stored on the router. just needed to enter the new user name and password and now its working.
