Former president Nelson Mandela is making a remarkable recovery in hospital, his daughter Zindzi Mandela-Motlhajwa said on Thursday.

"I would like to assure you, though I may not be a medical doctor, that Tata is making remarkable progress and we look forward to having him back at home soon," she said.

"I often tease him, saying 'our father who art in Houghton'. We would like to have him there [in Houghton], not in hospital."

My same thought as well. I think it's a possibility that he's no longer with us....

The mans dead, dead people don't recover

Strange that this sentiment is shared with so many - I personally don't have a feeling either way, I would like some confirmation of his status by a doctor and not some grandchild, but for now until the officials say otherwise I believe he is alive, I heard somewhere it is required by law to report if an ex-president has died.

The theories I have heard so far is mind-blowing. I am not sure what to believe tbh, I take all new "News" with a pinch of salt...

I trust them not. The yarns they've spun have been remarkable bits of fiction. Somehow I wonder if this isn't some sort of master plan by the ANC.

And do you really think our government really care about the law and the public? The law also bans fraud and corruption.

Probably not, but what purpose does it serve keeping a dead man alive? Wouldn't they get more play out of Struggle Hero has fallen, vote ANC and keep his legacy alive?

I've generally found the ANC to be unaffected by logic and have come to believe that they practice Un-logic, so this is right up their alley to keep a dead man on puppet strings for votes as opposed to the sympathy vote
