Netflix & Hulu+ On Xbox/PS in South Africa

SO since the region migrate tool, I migrated over to a UK XBL account and downloaded netflix. I was then trying to work out how some guys manage to get around the region block for SA. Here's how I've got it to work on Xbox:

First you need Netflix on your Xbox. I had to migrate my region from SA to UK so I could download it, see this http://zombiegamer.co.za/xbox-live-region-migration-tool-now-live

Then to get around them knowing where exactly you live, sign up for an 8 Day trial for Unotelly (http://unotelly.com/unodns/signup Basically a DNS Service thats tricks the services into thinking you in the US)

You can get a 30 Day FREE netflix Trial and Hulu+ Offers a 7 Day trial. So you can always try it for free regardless.

Unotelly provides pretty great step by step instructions and setup tutorials.

Costs after the trial periods:
Unotelly = $4 per month
Netflix = $7.99 a month, you get unlimited movies & TV episodes
Hulu+ = $7.99 a month, you get unlimited movies & TV episodes

I'm currently on a 2mbps line and its a bit fussy, but any episodes get pretty clear after a few minutes. I'm sure a 4mbps line would be awesome!

:D nice would totally try it if I had an xbox, but it is time that netflix and other online video streaming products come to this country.

Yip, PC or PS3 too. There are also some free DNS services, not sure how well they work though.

Just keep in mind Unotelly is $7.95 a month if you don't pay for 12 months in advance (paying 12 months in advance gets you the $4 price)

The cool thing about these DNS-based VPN's is that you can setup your ADSL Router with the DNS and enable ALL your devices on your network with it at once

Thats great. An all in solution.

Unotelly+Netflix+Hulu=Pure win.

I much prefer Unotelly over VPN's. I have had trouble with lag over the VPN's, but Unotelly, I am lag free :)

I am so contemplating doing this. The DSTV price is just nuts now, R700. If my calculations are correct for all 3 you looking at like R130 +- a month? I am on a 4MB uncapped line so it should be fine?

Yeah, roughly, prob more like R170 seeing as its R8-9 a dollar,

That was my reasoning, I was on a 2mb uncapped line, with DSTV. Got fed up, upgraded to 4mb uncapped (i think that was a R320 more a month compared to 2mp uncapped), got netflix and never looked back. So all in all, cheaper than I had before :D

My only issue with Netflix atm is that it's out of date with most content so don't expect to watch recently aired series any time soon.

Thats true, they have a huge database, but its all generally a season old. I dont have Hulu, but apparently thats all recent but has some random adverts thrown in.
Anyone got Hulu?

I use Hulu a bit. Mostly been catching up on Community. I'm not a plus member to you have to put up with ads.

Is it worth having both Hulu and Netflix? I just signed up to Netflix and by god its like being a kid in a candy store! So.Much.to.Watch!!

Good bye DSTV! :D
